This week we have been enamored with Retro Renovation and it’s vast trove of retro inspiration. The site was founded by vintage queen, Pam, who shares her knowledge about restoring and decorating mid century homes. Take one look at Pam’s incredible, mod kitchen (pictured) and you know you’ve found a great source for retro information. If you dream of making your home look as if it’s part of the Mad Men set, or have questions about renovating your 40′s, 50′s, 60′s or 70′s home, you will find product recommendations, inspirational vintage images, stories of other readers’ homes and quirky info about the mid century design ethic. A true treasure for fans of all things vintage!
Wht member and friend Katie let us know about a great site Recession Recipes. An amazing site for the budget foodie! They got a great philosophy “We believe that good food and wine don’t have to be super expensive to be tasty, especially during these tough economic times. There is a happy medium between freshness, taste, and cost.” And best yet, really good recipes. Check out this Chicken and Leek pie. Yum!
And you can’t cook with out onions, right? Well, we also can’t start our day without The Onion, America’s finest news source. That is, if you like your news snarky and brilliantly hysterical. Some of this week’s headlines: TV Producers Running Out Of Types Of People To Have Dance With Each Other and Oh No, Performers Coming Into Audience. “They’re bringing that fat guy back onstage with them,” an audience member said. “Oh, Christ, what are they going to make him do? Why—why don’t they just leave us alone?”
