Whole lot of web love – Sexy People
I guess I’ve been in the need of some good laughs this week, because I’ve spent large amounts of time on one of the webs most hilarious destinations…
Sexy People (like Jerry, shown here) calls itself “the celebration of the perfect portrait.” I call it quite possibly the funniest website I’ve ever seen. Very little text and not even an about page; just page after page of portraits. And most amazingly, no snarky captions, because let’s face it, photos this good speak for themselves. Portraits are organized by categories such as year, country, kind of backdrop (like this 80′s classic, the roller blind), styling (a favorite of mine is stache?? which is filled with questionable mustaches) and hairdo (Afro, Bowl Cut, Heavy Perm, Fringe, Mullet). And don’t miss the grouping of the blog owner’s favorites. I can, and do, spend hours on this site. And you will too. You’re welcome.

I loved this site when Stef first emailed me a link so many moons ago…I can’t help but believe that if there were still any photos of me from school photo day in existence that they would be on this website. When my mom wasn’t dressing me, the fat kid, in horizontal stripes, she was putting me in an Espirit camp shirt with food all over it (it was every color in the rainbow with spaghetti, eggs, shrimp, and other foods that don’t belong together). Yeah, I woulda kicked my own ass on the playground. These photos really make me feel better about myself :)
I ought to submit myself….Kindergarten and first grade are cute…2nd grade my mom let me get my bangs only permed… then by about 6th grade when the hair gets frizzy and they eyebrows are out of control…. But the clothing isn’t that fun because I wore uniforms starting in 5th. But so fun!
It doesn’t need snarky captions. If you read the tags for each photo the “Nice sweaters” or “matching outfits” is stinging enough!

As a side note (I don’t know if anyone’s going to follow me here) but I think “Jerry” is Jerry the King Lawler from WWE wrestling. Random…

I’ve been enjoying this site for a few months as well. Not sure what took us so long to announce our love for it, but when Stef said she was posting Sexy people on Saturday, my only question was how she could pick just one photo! A very nice pick, I must say, – the odd beard and hairy chest give me the creepy crawlies!

My favorite pic on this site is of the Blard family. You know that Mr. Blard (who may be a bit inebriated) was only going to take one family photo, but then little Earl was born so they cut him out of a picture of him on Santa’s lap and glued it to the main photo. My favorite comment on there was ” tiny baby, you scare me almost as much as the rest of your clan.” I imagine this said like Will Farrell in the Ricky Bobby movie.
I now have this site bookmarked at work so if I am getting stressed I look at people who are much sexier then I.
