Congratulations to the latest winner of a we heart this giveaway, Recessionista! We asked our readers to share their favorite summer scent for a chance to win Pacifica Perfume’s Tunisian Jasmine Spray.

Recessionista made us laugh and pine for the dog-days of summer with this awesome submission:

This is probably the weirdest thing ever but I’m going for it: There’s a certain stretch of highway in San Diego that, only during the summertime, if you’re driving with your windows open, smells exactly like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. I look forward to this every summer. When I have friends in the car they *always* agree when they smell it, so I can assure I’m not imagining things.

I also really love the way the air smells in the early morning hours of a summer heatwave. When you wake up and say, “Today’s going to be a scorcher” the air smells sweet but full of tension in the early morning, because you know how unbearable it’s going to become as the day unfolds.
