YouTube week – Funny chicks
Ready for a little laughter to ease your way into Monday? Then welcome back to the we heart this YouTube week and sneak a peek at these clips while the boss refills his/her coffee. We think the title of this post pretty much explains itself: here our some clips from some hilarious ladies, cause chicks love funny chicks.
Tyna’s pick: If you haven’t watched the breakout Starz hit, Party Down, I highly recommend you catch up with season one over the summer (especially if you are a Freaks & Geeks, Veronica Mars or Christopher Guest fan). This sharp and very funny show, created by my hero Rob Thomas (of VM fame, not the singer) follows the shenanigans of a misfit crew of (for the most part) reluctant party caterers working the scene in Los Angeles. Season one starred one of the funniest chicks out there, Jane Lynch as Constance, an eternally optimistic, D-list actress (she was crushed by a chandelier in the original Poseidon Adventure) still looking for her big break. In the above scene a party attendee recognizes Constance from one of her greatest films:
Stef’s pick: Nothing cracks me up like Patsy and Edina of Absolutely Fabulous. I can’t tell you the number of times Tyna and I have quoted this scene “this is the one we didn’t want, the empty one.”
Honorable mentions: SNL is a breeding ground for hysterical women. Good luck trying to find them on YouTube though! We had to hit up some other sources for these: Tina Fey on 30 Rock, Amy Poehler as Kaitlin, Kristen Wigg (with bonus funny dude Will Farrell). More from Party Down: Jane Lynch will be starring in Fox’s Glee next fall, and the folks at Party Down have made her exit much easier to bear with the addition of another Christopher Guest favorite, the amazing Jennifer Coolidge as Bobbie St. Brown. More funny chicks on Party Down include costar Lizzy Caplan and her biting, deadpan style and plenty of guest stars including Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars (hooray!) fame.

Jane Lynch cracks me up to no end! I’ve not only not seen this show, I’ve never even heard of it, thanks for the tip.
I promise I don’t work in the Starz promotions department! I just love the show and want more people to discover it! That said – Jane Lynch is too funny – her faces in that scene slay me – I want to see “Dingleberries” 100 times too!

I love Party Down! i finally started watching it! Jane Lynch can do NO wrong! she is always consistantly funny. Plus, she’s a huge animal lover and is the nicest person in real life! LOVE HER!!!!! If you have netflix but not starz, you can see the entire season of Party Down online. That’s what we did. Just hook your computer up to your tv.
