Announcing the wht Raffle for the Rescues!

We are so excited to announce the first official we heart this event! Mark your calendar for October 4th, when we will be sponsoring the Raffle for the Rescues during the Race for The Rescues event at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. We are thrilled to be participating in such a worthwhile event as this annual race hosted by our hometown heroes, The Rescue Train. This race, fundraiser and adoption day benefits the homeless and abandoned animals of Los Angeles. In the past 3 years, the race has raised close to $200,000, with every dollar being split between 7 worthy organizations that are run solely on tax-deductible donations and care for over 1,500 abandoned animals.

Long time readers of we heart this may recall an early story on our day spent volunteering at last years Race. We’re huge animal advocates here and when the planning started for this years event, we knew we heart this had to participate! The event already features a 5k run/walk, a non-competitive 1-mile kid’s walk/run, an amazing silent auction, dog and cat adoption booths, face painting for the kids, dozens of unique pet vendors, a bake sale and a “Dancing with the Dogs” themed dog fashion show featuring some of the special animals looking for a good home, so what can we heart this offer? Giveaways and beauty products, of course!

On race day, we heart this we will be hosting the Raffle for the Rescues. Our friends in the beauty and home industry have been incredibly gracious and we have arranged 10 fabulous Raffle Baskets as prizes. We will be selling raffle tickets (just 5 bucks each) at the event to enter the drawing for the Raffle Basket(s) of your choice. We will be officially announcing the Raffle sponsors and descriptions of each Raffle Basket next week. And since we couldn’t leave our fabulous readers out of the loop, we will announce how you can donate and enter the raffle online. For now, just mull over the names of some of the incredible companies donating items for our Raffle Baskets, including; Clarisonic, Shu Uemura, Face Stockholm, Origins, Pacifica and Hourglass.

We have even more exciting news, especially for those in Southern California! At the Race for the Rescues, we’ll be offering gift bags filled with we heart this favorites to Raffle Ticket purchasers! Again, we’ll fill you in on all the details next week. So save the date and come visit us October 4th at the we heart this booth. Even if you don’t win one of the big prizes, for a nominal donation you can still walk away with some amazing booty including offerings from Anatomicals, Xen-Tan, Shu Uemura, tarte and many more.

Most importantly, you’ll be helping animals in need. All proceeds will be donated directly to the Race For The Rescues. Now more than ever (due to the economy and foreclosures), dogs and cats are being abandoned at an alarming rate. These animals need our help and we need yours.
