The whole mod look of the 60’s inspired me –I loved the look of samantha Stevens, Jeannie, & That Girl!

I find inspiration in advertising images and covers of mags, In Style, etc. Imagining what Audrey Hepburn would look like if she were 40 today, the differences in makeup styles. I love the new images for Chanel #5 with the French actress.

Jessica Simpson is one of my style icons. She’s gorgeous and curvy and has a great balance between cute and glam.

Zooey Deschanel is definitely my style muse. I love her vintage/indie look. And her makeup is always so fresh and simple, but she really knows how to glam it up when it counts!

Who Inspires Me to Add More Glam?

Right now, my daughters Dew and Jo-Jo. They’re 4 and 2 years old, respectively, and everything is about frills, tiaras, pink, purple, glitter and wearing “tap tap” shoes. The other day I broke out of my comfy flat rut, and wore a pair of high heel boots to work. When they saw them on my feet, their eyes got wide and they shouted “YOUR SHOES ARE BEAUTIFUL.”

Yes, folks, I try to look a little extra glam for my daughters.

I don’t follow celebrity trends, people who inspire me would be regular people that I meet through the blogging world. I learn a lot from them.

I think my consistant glam icon is my best friend Michael. He urges me to try things I’d never normally wear and always sets the standard for fabulousness. It’s because of him that I adopted the mantra, “Now that we are over 25, we did not glitter, we shimmer. Except on Halloween.”

I like the 80s style makeup worn by Madonna, the Go Gos, etc.. I also like Gwen Stefani’s style today..I also like old movie star makeup looks as well..

A lot of things inspire me to add some glam. I love vintage glam of Sophia Loren and Rita Hayworth of the silver screen from ago. They were classy, elegant, and glam all without showing too much skin or plastic surgery. They were hot and oozed sexuality and glamor appeal! I look to ladies like that for inspiration for makeup and fashion

I am most inspired by my grandmother. Even in her 70s she is still the most glamorous and well put together lady I know. She was the one who taught me how to put on make-up, and drilled it into me to never leave the house without make-up. I must admit if I ever do leave without make-up I think about what she would say, lol.

i think my first glam lessons came from my mom… i used to sit in front of the mirror when i was a little girl and play with makeup. i would pretend i was on tv teaching people how to do it. i’m so thankful she and mom’s of my friends knew how to let go and let us girls get into their makeup, their fancy high heels, scarves, and jewelry… i’ve always loved plain old jeans and a tomboy look too – my mom called me her denim lace pearls girl… there’s no reason denim can’t be glam in my book… from no makeup days to all decked out… i consider it my cozy castle look – i can be a princess in castle but the furniture is comfortable and i can put my feet on the coffee table.
