we really heart this – the best interviews of ’09

interviewsGetting to know them, getting to know all about them….

Just call us Barbara Walters junior(s). Because there’s nothing we love more than getting to know someone deeper than their press release. We’ve had the honor of talking to some really fabulous people this past year. Here are a few favorites (two of which were conducted by our ace reporter/wht team member Christy).

• How excited were we when the interview-shy, punk icon Soo Catwoman (left image) agreed to speak to us? We were so happy to get to know the warm, gracious and sweet soul behind the image we’ve been intrigued with for years.
Check out Part One and Part Two.

• I could wax all poetically about how much we love BPAL perfume oils, but you’re going to hear plenty of that from us in the future. Instead I’ll just declare this; founder and mad scent scientist Beth (right image) may just be the coolest woman on the planet!

• Our green highlight of the year was getting to speak with celebrity makeup artist Christy Coleman, who only uses natural and organic products on her clients. She also couldn’t be sweeter! It’s been a real joy to watch her star continue to rise.

• And speaking of stars, David Babaii is a super star in the hair world. We were honored to get the chance to talk to him about everything from his partnership with Kate Hudson and Wild Aid to Kim Bassigner’s sex-kitten hair in 9 1/2 weeks!

• Female business owners (specializing in affordable beauty, no less) and a Duran Duran mention? How could we not have our interview with Jill and Lindsay of BeautyTicket.com on the list?

• Finally, someone who’s beautiful imagery gives us so much inspiration that we could practically burst, the talented Darla Teagarden gave us an inside look at how her elaborate and gorgeous photograph (center image) are created.

And wow, the interviews we’ve got coming in 2010! Stay Tuned…
