Removeez – don’t have kids without it!

February 8, 2010 | By: tiffany

Anyone with young kids knows how just how messy and dirty they can be. I don’t think my kids can go a day without getting some kind of paint, marker, or unknown substance somewhere on their little bodies. Each night during bath time, I scrub and scrub to try to get them back to the squeaky clean kids I once knew. This isn’t always the easiest of tasks. Luckily, the brains behind Removeez came up with an easy solution.

What is Removeez you ask? It’s a citrus oil based remover that gets stuff off your skin that normal soap and water can’t remove, and does so gently and quickly. It’s that simple! This wonderful product was created by a Mom and Dad who were tired of scrubbing temporary tattoos, bandage markings, tar from the beach, and ink off of their child’s skin. Dematologist tested, this product not only works well, but is also made without parabens, phtyalates or PPB’s. Another plus, it’s cruelty free.

Having two very dirty children of my own, I immediately put Removeez to the test. My son had a temporary tattoo that had been lingering for weeks. I put a little Removeez on the tattoo and gently rubbed with my fingers. Not more than a few seconds later the tattoo was completely gone. Even my son was amazed with how quickly it came off. For the next test, I wanted to see how Removeez held up to permanent marker. I drew a large heart on my daughter’s hand with black permanent marker. I used a cotton pad with a few drops of Removeez on it and started rubbing. It took less than 30 seconds to completely remove all traces of the heart from her skin. We also tested this on the sticky substance band-aids leave behind and it worked like a charm.

Available in four yummy scents that are sure to please everyone: Coconut/Orange, Clove/Orange, Lavender/Orange and Eucalyptus/Orange. I tried the last two, which both smelled absolutely amazing.

I can’t recommend this product enough. Every parent should own a bottle of this amazing remover. If you have young kids, do yourself a favor and keep one on hand.

  1. I am absolutely going to get some of this for my sister-in-law as my awesome niece and nephew are always having a little too much fun for there own good! But I think that my house could use a bottle too for those darn hand stamps that we get when we attend a concert in a bar or club. Hate those! As they usually end up on my face the next day much like the infamous Drew Barrymore scene in Never Been Kissed.

  2. Kellie it works wonders on those hand stamps. I actually got out of the house a few weekends ago and went to go see a local band. Of course, I came home with the annoying hand stamp that didn’t come off in the shower. I grabbed my Removeez and instantly it was gone.

This stuff is great and it smells wonderful! 5 stars from me!

  3. Awesome! Thanks Tiffany. I am sold!

  4. Wow, this is awesome. Being a left handed teacher, me and the overhead projector are NOT very good friends! I get dry erase marker all over the side of my hand and on my fingers all the time. I will definitely have to give this a try!

  5. As a teacher I get overhead projector marker marks on my hands every day – and soap and water do not take them out right away….I bet this would, though! I’m going to get some of this for me now and the messes I see in my 6-month-old’s near future!

  6. Forgot to say that the write-up had me sold anyways Tiff – but the pics of your little hand model tester princess are absolutely priceless!

  7. I don’t need kids to have this! I’m a mess all by myself! This is a great idea for just about anyone! I’d like to get the coconut one!

  8. Thanks Melinda. She loves to be my model :)

  9. I wonder if this would work for sticky residue left on products after you pick off stickers? I’ve got a big can of “oops” remover for that, but swear every time I open it, I feel a bit faint! It smells deadly.

  10. My mom used regular ol’ Extra Virgin Olive Oil to remove the stuff soap and water won’t off skin; it’s gentle, non-pore clogging and cheap. Let’s just say when I was as a child, I was messy with a capital M. There wasn’t a day that I came home as clean as I was when I woke up. I always came home dirty whether it was dirt, sand, grass stains, shaving cream (special ed = lots of shaving cream for desensitization. I love shaving cream), tempera paint, water color paint, chalk, clay, pastels, crayons, marker…you name the craft, I probably had it on me at one point. Somehow my mom got stains out of my clothes too without any of the fancy stuff they have these days.

The lesson of the day is: Extra Virgin Olive Oil is godly. Tasty too.

  11. Stef I tried it out on a plastic glass that had one of those annoying paper stickers on the bottom. All the sticky residue came right off.

  12. OH, how I wish I had some of this now, as I just got stamp ink all over me from trying to refill our date stamp at work. Normally I can get most of it off with hand sanitizer, but this time the ink has apparently decided to seep into my skin and become one with me. GRRR….

This would have come in handy when I worked at the dance studio. Stickers were often given as rewards and those buggers ended up on everything. Goo-be-gone works, but it could be a little too harsh on the marley. I bet this would be a lot gentler, and smell nice too!

And Katie, I’ll have to try the EVOO! I’ve used it to get price stickers off of dishes before, but I never thought to remove ink or marker with it!

  13. Oh how I wish I’d gotten to try this! I don’t have kids, but I do get messy. I paint and craft and home improve and…well, all of that stuff, and I ALWAYS have messy hands. It gets embarrassing when I go to work (where my hands must be presentable) and I have to hide the residue of my daily projects. In fact, I’ve been known to place band aids at strategic locations to cover marker and paint. This sounds like an investment I must make. A total plus that this takes sticker residue away!

  14. Alyssa–EVOO is like baking powder or rubber bands–it has a million uses. I’m always finding new uses.

My favorite use of EVOO at the moment is mixing it with Dawn soap and washing my make-up brushes with it. Basically, on a plate (any works), put Dawn on 1/2 (if you got a LOT of brushes) and EVOO on the other. Put the brush in the middle, mix it up, wash and dry. Squeaky clean and super soft brushes after.

I love it on pasta too mixed with parsley and oregano. Potatoes cooked with kosher salt and EVOO in a skillet is heavenly too. Or on chicken with parsley, garlic, lemon peel and oregano. Oh geez, I’m making myself hungry. Stop thinking about food, Katie!

  15. I am totally sending this to my sister!! Her boys love do their illustrating on each others heads :)

  16. Steph – I second your aversion to “oops” – the smell is deadly. All of my clients with children will love me for this referral. The name is fun too, there is often power in stating the obvious!

  17. Well, I thought I was going to get to wait to order this until my 7-month-old was at least crawling, but my husband woke up from a “gum coma” this morning, ie, he fell asleep with gum in his mouth that somehow made it to his arm…and is now ground into his arm hair! We are trying all the at home remedies with no luck (rubbing alcohol, evoo, peanut butter, veggie oil) to no avail. So i thought of this post and how I’d wanted to order some anyways, so I just clicked the link above and got some lavendar/orange. Until it arrives, does anyone else have any suggestions short of shaving?!!

  18. Oh no! (and sorry, but a littl bit of hee, “gum coma”). I would suggest peanut butter but looks like you already went that route. I’ve always heard some PB can remove gum from hair – but maybe not?

Sounds like an interesting Sunday morning Mel! Readers, let us know if you have any suggestions

  19. I should get this. My 5 year old comes home covered in marker from preschool. My 3-year-old, who is teaching herself how to write with a pen, gets ink everywhere. I mean everywhere like her feet!
