Summer Party Round Up: Time for Party Palmers!

Get ready to celebrate the sun with the wht drink of the summer!

palmer Summer Party Round Up: Time for Party Palmers! What are you doing on the computer? It’s the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend, you should be exfoliating and self tanning, packing a suitcase for a getaway, or planning the perfect salad to bring to a picnic. If you are reading this post, you’re probably at the office trying to look busy, while daydreaming of the 3 days ahead, until you can quietly slip out the door. So we’re skipping our regular Etsy feature this week and sharing some of our favorite summery recipes for last minute Memorial Day celebration ideas that you can use all summer long.

First, this occasion calls for a nice, cold, refreshing drink. We can’t think of a better summer cocktail than the wht take on the Arnold PalmerThe Party Palmer. This simple recipe – a combo of lemonade, iced tea and vodka over lots of ice – is summertime in a glass! We love it so much we had to share it again, so our new readers and members (hi guys!) over the last year can join in as we raise a glass:
Party Palmers – cocktail of the month (June 09)

We also seem to like our hamburgers at we heart this, and really is there any better summer meal then burgers cooked on the grill and consumed outdoors with friends and family? Burgers are super easy and tasty for vegetarians too. If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll recreate one of Stef’s many burger recipes substituting a package of refrigerated TVP for 1 lb of ground beef. If I’m feeling lazy, or just want to indulge in lots of Party Palmers, I’ll throw some Morning Star Grillers (my top-pick of all the frozen veggie burgers) or Tofu Pups on the grill and go refill my glass. Some wht approved burger suggestions:

• The best burger ever? You decide. The World’s Juiciest Burger.
• A twist on the standard – Stuffed Burgers – with a Veggie Version too!
• An oldie but goodie – Apple Chedder Turkey Burgers

I love potato salad, but never bring it to summer get togethers – you can always count on a few variations of it at any outdoor festivity. If you’re looking for a colorful and delish salad to bring to a picnic celebration, we’ve got two we love. Both can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge the day before – grab it on the way out the door.

• A summer classic – Roasted Tomato Caprese Salad
• Everyone loves a fresh Chopped Salad.

If I had the space, I would have you all over for Party Palmers, burgers and salad served on Jonathon Adler’s new Party Ware this weekend. It’s so very wht I just had to share!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend wehearters!

I’m rocking a Party Palmer all weekend long! Not the same one, mind you, many in succession! I have guests coming who have a huge lemon tree (and I’ve told to come bearing lemons) so I’m even going to make homemade lemonade. I’m actually going to mix it up a bit since I’ve got a mint plant that’s doing really well, so I think I’m making mint ice tea. YUM!

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Iced Tea, Lemonade, AND Vodka? These are a few of my favorite things *singing*…
I still need to try that juiciest burger recipe. Mike keeps hounding me about making our own burgers instead of buying the frozen, pre-formed ones we usually rock from Wal-mart. I can’t help that I am afraid of homemade burgers. Yes, afraid. When I was a kid, my dad would “make” burgers by taking ground meat, grabbing a fistful, barely forming it into a patty, barely grilling it, and you’d bite into this thing and it would be pink and have the ground meat squiggles inside, so it looked like you bit into a mound of pink worms. AAAAAGGGGGHHHH *hides from burgers*. Yeah, I’m damaged.
