Hey weheartsters, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. It surely flew by for me. I’m here today to break any resolution you have to lose weight or cut out the sweets (sorry!) This recipe for a 5 minute chocolate cake is going to stun you with how convenient and yummy it is!

After the enormous amount of baking that took place at our home over the holidays, the last thing I wanted to do was haul out my KitchenAid mixer to bake. However, I had a HUGE craving for something chocolate, as usual. So, I pulled out this recipe from the site of gluten-free specialist, Jenn Cuisine for a microwave chocolate cake. It really, truly takes only 5 minutes to throw together, and that’s why it’s called dangerous!

• 4 tablespoons flour
• 4 tablespoons sugar
• 2 tablespoons cocoa
• 1 egg (when I halved the recipe, I just used the egg white)
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 3 tablespoons oil
• 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (I used white chocolate chips)
• Small splash of vanilla extract
• 1 large coffee mug

-Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
-Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
-Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
-Add the chocolate chips and vanilla extract, and mix again.
-Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

Tip: This recipe makes enough for two, but can easily be halved (the image is a half batch) for cake for one!

The verdict? Oh my….I never thought this was going to taste good, but I was wrong. This simple cake is REALLY yummy, gooey and chocolately… Dangerous, I tell you!
