MAC Viva Glam Nicki and Ricky – review, photos & swatches
Beautiful lip products for a good cause? Count us in.
MAC Viva Glam is at it again, this time with Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin as spokespeople. They are 21st and 22nd in a long list of fabulous folks, including RuPaul, Missy Elliot, Dita Von Teese and Debbie Harry, who have starred in the campaigns (the only advertising that MAC does).
Every cent of every Viva Glam sale is donated to the MAC Aids Fund. Since it’s development in 1994, the fund has raised an astonishing $235 million that goes to a host of programs (both here and abroad) to help those living with and effected by HIV/Aids.
And such a heartfelt effort deserves a beautiful product, right? MAC did just that…
Nicki is a gorgeous bright yellow pink with a satin finish. The touch of yellow makes it warm tone friendly, and it’s a tad coral. It’s also bright, bright, BRIGHT and very opaque. It’s not a shy color, for sure. But you can dab it on and mix it with clear balm (like Ricky!) for a more subtle look. ($14.50 US / $17.50 CDN)
Ricky Lip Conditioner is a specially packaged version of their unisex classic. It’s an uber moisturizing balm packed with yummy ingredients like almond oil, shea butter, avocado extract and wheat germ oil. It smells just like MAC lipsticks, but even more vanilla-y! ($15 US/ $18 CDN)

I currently own 2 from the normal Viva Glam line along with Gaga 1&2. I love this pink shade and plan on getting it as soon as I have the extra money to spend. I don’t mind splurging on the Viva Glams since the money goes to a great cause.
I am a huge fan of the Cyndi Lauper Glam. She has long been a hero of mine! Love that color on you @stef !! It is right up your alley-coral queen!! I love MAC and their altruism!

Wow, that color looks great on you! I’m worried it’ll be a bit hard to pull off, but I do love the MAC Viva Glam campaign. I own the Viva Glam IV and Gaga glosses, and also the Viva Glam IV SE, Gaga and Cyndi lipsticks. I bought my grandma Viva Glam Cyndi lipstick too, cuz she was about to steal mine ;)
i just recently bought the viva glam gaga 1 and its so pretty and now that i see this neMarilyn @ “Lipgloss and Spandex” i noticed you said you bought the cyndi lauper lipstick foir your grandma i want it so bad but its out of stock where did u buy yours? i dont wana buy a fake one and not even know it or come to realize later
@Nancy – yeah, you always have to wonder about buying LE MAC products on Ebay (or similar places). I’d say just look out for someone to buy from that has a lot of high feedback.
I didn’t get Viva Glam Cyndi either, and could kick myself!

I love this color! It’s my favorite type of lip color (coral-y pink) and it looks wonderful on you @Stef! Definitely bold but not too cray cray…
I already own the Gaga pink (barely wear it though) and the Cindi Lauper one which is also a perfect shade for me.

Oooh, I like the Nicki Viva Glam, it’s such a wearable pink! Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Little Monster at heart but Lady Gaga’s Viva Glam lip colors were a little too too. Now I’ve got to ask- what are you wearing for blush in this photo? It goes so well and gives you a perfect flush. I must have it!
