Beautiful lip products for a good cause? Count us in.
MAC Viva Glam is at it again, this time with Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin as spokespeople. They are 21st and 22nd in a long list of fabulous folks, including RuPaul, Missy Elliot, Dita Von Teese and Debbie Harry, who have starred in the campaigns (the only advertising that MAC does).
Every cent of every Viva Glam sale is donated to the MAC Aids Fund. Since it’s development in 1994, the fund has raised an astonishing $235 million that goes to a host of programs (both here and abroad) to help those living with and effected by HIV/Aids.
And such a heartfelt effort deserves a beautiful product, right? MAC did just that…
Nicki is a gorgeous bright yellow pink with a satin finish. The touch of yellow makes it warm tone friendly, and it’s a tad coral. It’s also bright, bright, BRIGHT and very opaque. It’s not a shy color, for sure. But you can dab it on and mix it with clear balm (like Ricky!) for a more subtle look. ($14.50 US / $17.50 CDN)
Ricky Lip Conditioner is a specially packaged version of their unisex classic. It’s an uber moisturizing balm packed with yummy ingredients like almond oil, shea butter, avocado extract and wheat germ oil. It smells just like MAC lipsticks, but even more vanilla-y! ($15 US/ $18 CDN)
