Mattése Elite Mon Amour Nail Polish Collection – Vous avez mon coeur!

We review the latest from Ricky’s to steal our heart…

It’s no secret that we’re huge Ricky’s fans around here, especially considering we’re not NYC residents. But those familiar with the beauty mega store can understand the cross country love it inspires.

We also happen to love their in-house line Mattése Elite. Their eyeliner is fab, the lipsticks; divine. But they may have just outdone themselves with their new Mon Amour Nail Polish Collection. I mean, just look.

Mon Amour, could you be my love?

Je T’Adore, I do adore you.

But neither of you hold a candle to the love I feel for Je T’Aime

The Mon Amour collection is inspired by the romance of Paris. It’s a tidy but complex array of six colors, all of them as shiny and sparkling as the city of love itself. I got a look at three of the shades.

Mon Amour is a clear base, packed with medium toned, small pink glitter. It’s got great coverage and a dazzling look. Very princess-y.

Je T’Adore is a medium nude with a silver sheen. A very easy color to wear, and the silver sheen gives it a bit more flair than your average nude.

There’s no denying that Je T’Aime is the star of the bunch though. It’s packed with multi-sized gold and iridescent glitter that catch the light in completely magical ways. It’s absolutely mesmerizing.

How mesmerizing? I just order two more bottles of it as a back up, that’s how mesmerizing. It’s one of the most beautiful shades I’ve seen in a while. It’s gorgeous alone, transforms base colors and is a definite new favorite of mine. If you’re a gold polish fan, I must insist you pick this up pronto!

How about it readers, see anything vous aimez in the Mattése Elite Mon Amour collection?

I got to try out Mon Amour and like Stef said, it’s got that princess vibe. The pink glitter is so girly, it really should be over-the-top because, HELLO, it’s GLITTER, but this manages to look lovely and not gaudy. I’m not a huge fan of glitter polishes (it kills my nails b/c it takes so much to get it off), but this one has such small glitter, I would rather term it “macro-shimmer”. If you don’t think you can pull off glitter, you may want to give this a whirl. One coat gave decent coverage, one coat on top of silver polish was fun, two coats of this gave almost total coverage, so much so you would almost not think the base polish is clear. I’d give this a firm 4 stars!
