Le Métier de Beauté CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Review

A high-end facial with visible results without a trip to the spa

Some things are truly life altering. Dramatic, eye-opening occurrences; the result of which changes one’s course of action in life. Such occurrences are the reason I triple check my dog’s leash, open a champagne bottle pointed away from my face and other breakable objects, count to three after coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and… obsessively feel my face to see if it is as smooth as can be. Feel my face? What? One of these dramatic occurrences happened the other day when I experienced Le Métier de Beaute’s CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set and if you try it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Tyna and I were invited to Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills to experience first hand a sneak peek at Le Métier De Beaute’s newest addition to their relatively new skincare line, CHEM60 Pro-Peel and GLOW10ai Mask Set ($265 for the set). As we approached the Le Métier de Beaute counter, we were welcomed by Scott, an affable associate who is clearly in love with his line, and Rikki, an insanely gorgeous sweetheart of a young lady with the most perfect skin I’ve ever seen on anyone over the age of nine.

Sitting in chairs facing each other with bright sunlight streaming across our bare faces, Tyna and I began our journey to altered states, she with Rikki, I with Scott. I confessed to Scott that I was a bit nervous schlepping sans makeup through the tony town, suddenly sure that I should have at least buffed my suede shoes. Scott was quick to reassure me that it would have been silly to do otherwise and we began a relationship that I’ve heretofore only had with one or two outstanding hair stylists.

After prepping my skin with a little Daily Refresh Tonic, it was time for the CHEM60 Pro-Peel, a blend of Salicylic and Glycolic acids that chemically slough away dead skin cells to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increase hydration and reveal smoother, new skin. Using the included brush to apply, Scott warned me that this may burn a bit but my usually sensitive skin didn’t feel a thing. At the end of the 5 minutes, I did begin to tingle. For this reason we kept it on for the full 5 minutes (60 seconds to 5 minutes is recommended). Tyna, with her more sensitive, fair skin clocked in at about two minutes.

Earlier, I had expressed to Scott a concern about the redness in my skin. I’ve discovered numerous products that are good, but I’m always open to finding something better. On that note, if it doesn’t help my redness — even if it is otherwise a great product — deal is broken. As he prepares to apply the GLOW10ai Mask, Scott explains that this is the part of the treatment that will help diminish my redness. The mask has the look and consistency of Elmer’s Glue-All. Really though, the mask has a crazy concentration of antioxidants, vitamins and hydrators to make the most of the new skin uncovered by the CHEM60 Pro-Peel. After about ten minutes the mask is dry and ready to peel.

Once peeled, Scott was practically giddy about how soft and smooth my skin felt. I touched it and felt pretty giddy myself. My skin was so new and supple it didn’t seem real to me. Do you all remember Stretch Armstrong; the plump, malleable, stretchy toy covered in a silky-smooth rubbery skin? I immediately thought my skin felt like that — sense memory at work. Feeling like Stretch, by the way, is a good thing.

Scott then gave me a mirror and encouraged me to walk into the brightest late morning light I could find. My redness was far less perceptible and my pores seemed less prominent. I wasn’t done yet, though.

Our faces were then transformed further with Le Métier de Beaute’s amazing Peau Vierge line of anti-aging crèmes and moisturizers that slow down expression line formation (who needs Botox?). The tinted Anti-Aging Complexe with an SPF of 20 used immediately after the Peel and Mask set could make me give up foundation forever. A quick neutral eye, spot of blush and a sheer lip later, I was sent on my way. Tyna, looking equally bright and polished, and I strutted out of Neiman Marcus much more confident and better looking than when we arrived.

Throughout the day and night, through lunch, dinner and work, I never touched up my face nor added any makeup other that a fresh swipe of gloss, yet I received more compliments about my skin in one day than I think I did in my entire life. Friends, strangers and casual acquaintances all were quick to compliment my skin or curious to know what I had done. Confirmation? I need no more than that.

Ladies, “life-altering” experiences rarely come cheap but this is one wow definitely worth revisiting.

This really does make one’s skin glow! The result doesn’t last forever, though–2 or 3 days and I was wishing I had another application at the ready. I believe the recommended usage is about 3 times a week, though. I think the price would have me saving this for once a week when I really want to dazzle. I’d love to try this at home and see if regular usage changes the skin more permenantly. Ladies, you MUST put this on your Christmas List!

Oh I so hope Santa brings me this set! I completely agree with @sherrishera – this peel and mask produced amazing results! I already loved everything I’ve seen from LMdB but I was surprised at just how good this treatment was.

I didn’t have any problems with itchiness or redness (something I sometimes experience with peels) and my skin look so much better with just one use – my pores were smaller, my red spots were gone, and my skin had a lovely, but not shiny, glow. My face felt smooth and soft and even my fine lines were less noticeable. Plus, the results lasted a good 3 or 4 days and I didn’t experience a single pre-mask pimple. Love, love, love this stuff!

It is pretty darn pricey, but I think I could justify it as the set equals one or two high end facials. You get just as good results and you can do it in the privacy of your bathroom, Plus, I figure the set should last a number of months and dozens of uses. If you have the funds to splurge on skin care, I highly recommend this mask and peel. It’s expensive but the results speak for themselves. 5 stars from me!

When a complete stranger compliments you on something you know it’s special! The set is really pretty expensive, but maybe if I’m really good this year Santa will remember me… I’d love to give it a shot!

You are right @sherrishera, sometimes the most awe-inspiring products do not come cheap. But if they make us happy in the end (and gain us tons of compliments :) they are so worth it. These products are so fancy and while I’ve never tried this brand before, I’ve heard many great things including your review!
