MAC Fabulousness: Primped Out Lip Look Bag in Luxurious Pink – review, photos & swatches

Everything you need for kissing under the mistletoe!

Giving unexpected and luxurious gifts to my loved ones is perhaps one of the most fun and gratifying elements of my holidays. That being said, I am also a staunch supporter of the Tom Haverford “Treat Yo Self” philosophy during the most wonderful time of the year.

In my opinion, some of the most satisfying treats that one could gift to others (or themselves) are beautiful cosmetics. No matter who you are gifting, I promise that you cannot go wrong with MAC. This year, they have pulled out all of the stops with one of their 2012 holiday collections, the Primped Out: Holiday Eye, Lip & Brush Kits.

This is a pretty solid collection, with some diverse selections available, featuring holiday worthy eye, lip and brush sets. Each Primped Out kit comes packaged in a cute leopard-print bag with a ‘kisslock’ closure. There are two lip look sets, Lavish Coral and Luxurious Pink, and each includes a Cremesheen Lip Glass, a Cremesheen Lipstick and a Lip Pencil.

I was lucky enough to test the Lip Look Bag in Luxurious Pink ($39.50). The bag, complete with a fishnet print on the inside, has a Marilyn Monroe vibe going on. It’s very cute and will be useful for my smaller purses.

The Cremesheen lipstick, Lickable comes in a special shiny black tube with simple white writing. Cremesheen is also possibly my favorite MAC lipstick finish. I find that it offers decent staying power, without overdrying.

Lickable is an amazing blue-toned bright pink. I find it to be very flattering, even with my pale skin. I am sure that it will look fabulous on almost any complexion. Additionally this color can be built up well, or toned down by just patting it on if you choose.

The mini-lip pencil, Great Catch, is a bright fuchsia. It works great as a base for either of the other lip products, but it is certainly not the star of the show.

The Cremesheen Lip Glass, Call Me Gorgeous, comes packaged with a chic black bow on the front. It is a stunning fuchsia with golden shimmer. I have never tried a Cremesheen Glass before now, but you can now call me a convert. Wow! What a gorgeous and non-sticky finish.

Call Me Gorgeous is wonderful on its own, not too bright – but layering the lipstick and lipglass together creates pure magic. It is a bright and festive look that is perfect for the holidays or any time that you want to be fabulous.

Great Catch Lip Pencil, Lickable Lipstick, Call Me Gorgeous Lipglass

In my opinion, the Primped Out Lip Look Bag in Luxurious Pink is a great collection. It makes it easy to buy perfectly coordinated sets for yourself or your loved ones. The look that I tested was both fun and luxurious And that’s a gift anyone would love.
