Sheswai fall collection review and swatches

photos: we heart this

Favorite stocking stuffer ever? Why, a bottle of fancy nail lacquer, of course! And folks, it doesn’t get much fancier than Sheswai.

This California lacquer line is a long time favorite around we heart this headquarters. Besides being big 3 free, we always appreciate a bit of packaging porn. Check out those caps! They’re fashioned from sustainably harvested wood from family-owned tree farms. Plus, they cuss, which we love (see below).

And the color….oh the color. Let’s delve into the fall collection, shall we?

Shown above is Hotdamn, which was called Fuckyeah during their summer launch. You’ll definitely say one of the two when you see this in person. It also may just be the hardest polish to capture in a still. It’s the brightest fuchsia creme you’ll ever meet, and I guess its awesomeness just won’t be contained. It’s somewhere between the purple shown above and the pink shown below.

(Speaking of Awesome, that’s the name of their new top coat. And it is. A perfect, thin formula that dries to a shiny, glassy finish.)

Winesnob is a blackened berry creme that makes me want a big glass of Cabernet followed by a piece of dark chocolate.

Sheswai describes Rootsy to a T on their website; a rich roasted caramel pumpkin color of the earth. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve seen a shade like this before. You’ll either love it or hate it.

At $16 per bottle, these are a splurge. But such a worthy one; the formula both applies and wears fabulously. When one shows up, they never fail to get a “gasp” from me. As will anyone who gets one in their stocking.

weheartsters, what did you think of the fall Sheswai selections?

  1. Oh wow how cute is this packaging… it reminds me of the packaging Tarte’s been coming out with. Cute names too :)

  2. Winesnob and Rootsy look amazing on… I know it’s hard to really know what they look like in pictures but if they are even remotely close to the pics above, I’m lovin them! Wow, the packaging porn is intense!

  3. I knew Hotdamn would have to be mine from the moment I first looked at it. I wish I could have captured the color better in the pictures. It’s just SO MAGENTA, and it’s freaking fabulous. Love it, and Sheswai…a whole lot. 5 stars.

  6. I always love when this brand pops up on wht. And what girl wouldn’t want these in their stocking? The packaging is just too pretty. Hotdamn and Winesnob are my favs from this bunch!

  7. Rootsy is such an interesting color! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it either. And those caps are totally enough reason to buy these!

  8. Over the past few years I’ve really fallen in love with Sheswai lacquers. At first I was mostly impressed with the eco-friendly philosophy and chemically free formula – and of course I flipped for the totally adorbs packaging.

My admiration has only continued to grow as each and every new color I’ve seen has A) been an AMAZING new color – I rarely see a Sheswai hue that makes me say “Oh I already have that color and B) had the same great formula – smooth and easy to apply, with one to two coats getting full coverage.

I was the lucky tester of Winesnob and it is so perfect for winter nails. The deep dark berry has a lot of black in it – not too much so that it washes me out or looks too gothy – but just enough to look edgy and fresh. And as always the brush and formula are great. Quick, easy, smooth nail painting – two coats and I’m good to go. I love this color!
