What’s Your Take on Organic Beauty Products?

SkinYoga Natural Face Mask Whats Your Take on Organic Beauty Products?

That and more in The Lipstick League, week of 7.10.17

Question of the Week: Is a beauty product being labeled green, natural or organic a selling point for you?

Answer: 5 years ago, the answer would have been “Nope, I buy what I like.” But as I get older/smarter I find that it really does mean something to me. Skin is your body’s largest organ, it makes sense to treat it well. So I have been reaching for products with minimal nasties more and more. And if the ingredients are harvested in sustainable, ethical ways, without animal testing, that means even more to me.

I went to Cosmoprof North America last week (the largest cosmetics trade show in the US), and I learned about a lot of new-to-me brands that fit the bill. Like SkinYoga, a natural brand based in India that hits all of these marks.

I’ll be bringing you lots more from the show over the next couple of months (organic beauty products and more). SO. MUCH. BEAUTY!

Until then, here’s what was up with the League last week…

It can be a selling point, but it’s got to also have the goods. It can be all-natural, organic, locally sourced whatever, harvested from free-range unicorns, but if it isn’t effective, then it means nothing to me.
