DISCLOSURE POLICY: we heart this
This blog, weheartthis.com (hereinafter “wht”) is a collaborative blog written by a group of individuals (hereinafter “review team”) and edited by the we heart this co-founders, Stef Andrews and Tyna Werner (hereinafter “editors”).
Editorial content and reviews are written by the editors and review team based on our personal experience, individual testing and results. Our content is not influenced by advertisers, affiliates, public relation firms, brands, products or companies.
This blog does not contain any content that might present a conflict of interest. The content is also provided for general information purposes only. We do our best to provide accurate information, but do not claim to be experts in any field. Please do not use our opinions as substitutes for sound professional advice.
wht accepts products for editorial consideration from brands and public relations representatives, though the acceptance of a submission does not guarantee a favorable review. Reviews are done based on honest assessments of the products and content is not pre-approved by PR representatives or brands.
Any product review post published after November 2009 that features a product that was received as a press sample will be identified as such in accordance to the Federal Trade Commission’s “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”.
The thoughts and opinions shared in the comments sections are written by both members and non-members of the we heart this community. We value every opinion and encourage open debate, however all comments are subject to approval by the editors. Name calling, racist, sexist or offensive comments, trolling and spam are not allowed and will be deleted. We reserve the right to edit comments, remove spam or links and delete user accounts at our discretion.
wht is supported by paid advertisements and is a member of Glam Media Network.
On occasion, wht will be provided with compensation for reviews through Glam Media or through below the fold advertisements sold directly through wht. These posts will be clearly marked as such in the disclosure located at the bottom of the post.
Except for these specific posts, we do not receive cash compensation for any site content. We are not compensated to provide opinions on products, services or websites. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely those of the editors or our review team. We will only endorse products or services that we believe, based on our personal experience, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, quote or statistic should be verified with the manufacturer or company.
Please email the editors if you are interested in more advertising information.
When applicable, we use affiliate links in posts. These links to stores that carry the item we are discussing, give us a small commission if you purchase the item through the link. We will never write a post only to create a link and possible commission. We also place affiliate ads in our advertising column when space is available. As with our paid advertisements in the same column, we only work with companies we feel will be of interest or value to the wht readership.
If we helped you to decide a product was right for you, please do use our links! They help keep this labor of love online and (as always) we appreciate your support!
REVIEWS/GIVEAWAYS AND THE REVIEW TEAM
In our quest to offer wht readers thorough and honest reviews from real women, we created a review team of approximately 20 women; spanning various ages, income brackets, lifestyles, locations and ethnicities; to share their honest opinions of products with the wht readers.
As with the advertising content on the wht site, all reviews and contests for readers (giveaways) are hand picked by the editors with an eye towards companies that we trust and products in which we have a true interest (again, with the intention of getting the most relevant and useful information to the wht readers).
Because this site is called “we heart this”, we will generally be bringing reviews of items we like. However, all of the wht reviews are always 100% honest. If a company we love, let us down, we’ll tell you. If a shade is unflattering, the packaging is wonky or a formula needs some more testing; our diligent review team will always be on the case.
Ratings can be given by both the review team (who received the items for review purposes) and wht members (who have purchased the items themselves). We do not control the outcome of ratings.
Any samples submitted by companies or PR representatives are for consideration only, and are not guaranteed a review (either positive or negative) or that the giveaway will be conducted. We will only write reviews and/or sponsor giveaways for products or services that we feel will be relevant to our readership.
Please email the editors if you are interested in a product review or giveaway.
