| Me in a nutshell | I’ve been a mom of two school age daughters, 5 and 7 years old. I’ve been married for 17 years. I’m a librarian with a love for red carpet shows, make up blogs, romance novels, fashion days on QVC and HSN, plus-size protaganists, and pedicures. In an alternate reality, I would spend an hour every morning putting on my face and wearing heels to work. But currently, I’m the queen of the five minute face and comfortable shoes. |
| I Heart | I love Rihanna’s daring style. I love Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s huge multi-cultural family, strange movies, and good deeds. I love Hugh Jackman and his chest hair. I love Ugly Betty because I worked at a magazine and often felt out of style and too smart for the scene like Betty is at Mode. I love Mad Men because I love analyzing Betty Draper and dreaming about doing bad things to Don Draper. I love listening to Maroon 5, Adam Carolla podcasts, late 19th century audiobooks, and house music on my iPod. I love entering contests, gouda cheese and red wine, dancing, a good laugh, a better book, and an even better movie. |

| eat, drink, be merry: Tell us your go to meal | Pasta, grated parmasean cheese, olive oil, and vegetables tossed together. When I want to splurge on takeout (a.k.a. just a 1-night serving), I order shrimp pad thai and thai iced tea. Oh, pancakes with lots of gooey syrup. The other morning, I had a chance to have a sit down breakfast of diner pancakes and a light and sweet coffee. I was good for the whole day! |

| Biggest splurge or steal in my closet | Biggest splurge, a pair of knee high riding boots. During an end of the season clearance BOGO boot sale earlier this year, I got 2 pairs of leather boots–1 in grey and 1 in brown. I get compliments on them all the time! |

| read, watch, listen:Favorite books | I like romance novels especially the ones by Sandra Brown (more of the traditional kind), Jennifer Crusie (more of the contemporary kind), featuring cowboys and Australian cowboys. I like reading anthologies about the trials and tribulations of women like Naked: Black Women Bare All About Their Skin, Hair, Hips, Lips, and Other Parts. I have recently developed a fondness for Charlotte Bronte and Kate Chopin. I’ve also become a die hard romantic recently and have fallen for movies like The English Patient, End of the Affair, Something New, and Australia. |
