| Me in a nutshell | I was the smart nerd/shy wallflower/weird art girl growing up (so you can imagine how popular I was. Heh). I’m still a bit nerdy, still a bit weird and still an artist, but I’ve abandoned the wallflower bit because life is a lot more interesting when you jump right in. |
| I Heart | A dry sense of humor, creme brulee, cooking, eating strange food, art, all genres of music, anything green tea flavored, cephalopods, strong black tea with milk and honey, DIY, thrift store shopping, vintage, knitting, my family and friends |
Tell Us More
| My Website | |
| eat, drink, be merry: Tell us your go to meal | I make a mean asian inspired chili and a variety of soups. |
| beauty & fashion: I can skip these | Foundation. A little concealer and some powder is all I need. |
| I NEVER go without these | Burts Bees Lip Balm and The Body Shop’s Hemp Hand Protector cream. |
| Biggest splurge or steal in my closet | Splurge: I try to be fairly thrifty, so my biggest splurge was a Tokidoki wallet I bought on a whim during a short layover in the Indianapolis airport. Steal: The skirt, tank top and lounge pants I bought from a boutique that would’ve totaled almost $200 but I got for $11. |
| do-gooder: Why I am one | After working in customer service for years I know how nice it is to have good customers, so I try to be friendly with everyone, be it server, receptionist, store clerk, barista, etc… |
| read, watch, listen:Favorite books | |
| Favorite bands | I could go on forever, but I’ll refrain: Andrew Bird, Otis Redding, Rilo Kiley, Johnny Cash, Grizzly Bear, Enon, Stars, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, Dirty Projectors, Neutral Milk Hotel, Edith Piaf, The Cure, New Order, Imogen Heap, DeVotchKa and a plethora of local Minnesota bands. |
| Favorite TV shows | Project Runway, Arrested Development, Flight of the Conchords, almost anything on The Food Network. |
| Favorite movies | Amelie, In The Mood For Love, The Royal Tenenbaums, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Garden State. |
| home & living:My favorite room in my house | |
| pets & kids:I choose | |
| potluck:Five people (dead or alive) I’d invite to a party | My grandma Dodie, Amy Sedaris, David Sedaris, Ira Glass, and Andrew Bird. |
| If I were an 80’s movie/tv/music star, I’d be | Indiana Jones. He made me want to be an archeologist until I realized archeology has far fewer harrowing, action packed adventures. |
