It’s with great honor that we bring you Callalilly, a short film by our very own Christy Kane and the Chiodo Bros. Christy is an amazingly gifted artist and doll maker. She’s also one of our dearest friends and just an all-around gorgeous gal. This film showcases her dolls and tells a story from her book Tales of the Sisters Kane.
What I enjoy most about Christy’s work is that I see it as the light side of the dark. While her dolls do have a slightly spooky twist (Siamese twins, hooks for hands, missing eyes) the stories that accompany each doll always have a moral and are very sweet at their core. Not to mention beautifully hand-crafted with incredible attention to detail.
Her collaboration with the Chiodo Bros is nothing short of genius. You may not know them by name, but you definitely know their work – the puppets for Team America, animation sequences for Elf, numerous Simpsons collaborations and perhaps my favorite, the Large Marge scene from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure!
Enjoy it-we sure do…
