We had a pretty exciting week here at we heart this; Stef was in town last weekend for a private MAC fall preview event (us, MAC Pro Team Artists, and lots and lots of make up – story soon!), we updated the site and announced a number of fun new features, and to top it all off, I spent Thursday evening with Eric at the PDC in West Hollywood attending the glamorous Patterns for Paws event supporting the vital work of the Amanda Foundation.
An evening spent sipping colorful cocktails, nibbling fancy apps, browsing and bidding on items from an expansive silent auction, a few fun celeb sitings and puppies? Count me in! Not to mention, our donation to enter the event (and Eric’s winning bid on a Flight of the Conchords gift basket) all goes to this fantastic organization that works tirelessly to save homeless animals and find them a loving home. Eric has been a loyal volunteer and supporter of the Amanda Foundation for many years and has watched 100s of animals find a place with the perfect family with the help of The Amanda Foundation (including Stef’s Pit Bull Lou Lou).
The event was attended by a number of animal loving celebs, including guest of honor, Ceasar Millan (the Dog Whisperer), So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe who mc’d the Dog Fashion Show featuring animals in need of a home and their celeb friends, including Bill Maher, Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Pauley Perrette (NCIS), Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina from Glee).
The adorable Jena, just look at her in our Photo of the Week above, belted out a great version of “True Colors” after the fashion show. Plus, she was all smiles and so sweet to her adoring fans – a group of cute, tween girls who ambushed her for pics and autographs and squealed over every move she made.
We’re not all celebrities or able to donate large sums of money, but this is one instance where every little bit counts. Your donation will help sweet pups like Jena (named for Jena Ushkowitz) find a loving home. If you’re feeling flush, or have an extra $5 or $10 to spare, please think of donating to The Amanda Foundation.
