A Green Monday review of a few key pieces from Weleda’s Rose and Almond lines
The body, the mind and subsequently, our emotional and mental state of being are very clearly tied to the earth. Not just in the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the environment we choose to surround ourselves in, but also the beauty products we use. It goes without saying that the healthier they are, the healthier we become.
That’s why we heart companies like Weleda; they have been employing methods like biodynamic farming, and using 100% natural ingredients to create their health and beauty products for years. If you were intrigued by our past review of Weleda’s Skin Food, then I promise that you don’t want to miss out on the latest items to be put to the test. I tested two items, the Almond Facial Oil and Wild Rose Intensive Eye Cream and for such unassuming looking products in such simple packaging, they proved incredibly effective.
It’s no secret around these parts that I am a lover of facial oils, so I was quite pleased to try the Almond Facial Oil ($22.50). Hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, just a few drops rubbed on my face, neck and chest, after I showered in the morning, and my skin was left glowing and supple. The oil is a pretty heavy-duty moisturizer, but don’t worry, you won’t feel greasy.
And thanks to the sweet almond oil, plum seed oil and blackthorn flower extract in this product my skin is getting a healthy dose of antioxidants to help fight signs of aging. Plus there are vitamins A, E, and C; natural toners that did a great job of evening out my skin tone while balancing and strengthening my skin.
Even better, you can also apply this oil at night for a deep, regenerative treatment or use it as a makeup remover! A couple of drops on a moistened cotton pad and it easily removed my eye makeup and left my skin incredibly soft!
All those vitamins, antioxidants and beneficial natural ingredients can also be found in the Weleda Wild Rose Intensive Eye Cream ($27). This very light, non-greasy, easily absorbed cream did a stellar job of soothing puffiness and reducing those unsightly under eye bags I’ve been rocking lately. And this cream actually helped brighten the area around my eyes – perhaps that’s thanks to its rejuvenating key ingredient, Rosehip seed oil. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I love it; even when I felt tired, my skin at least looked fantastic and refreshed!
The wht team received other products from the Wild Rose line including the Cleansing Lotion and Wild Rose Day Cream. They both employ the antioxidants and essential fatty acids of Rosehip seed oil to help revitalize skin. And we’ll hear on a few Weleda Almond products as well, like the Almond Moisture Cream, especially for soothing and nourishing sensitive skin. So stay tuned for their thoughts.
In the meantime, meet me in the comments and tell me which Weleda products you reach for when you want to treat yourself to some healthy, natural papering![ratings]
