If you enjoyed our post on How to create a themed Christmas tree (on the cheap!), you’ll love this weeks Etsy 4 for Friday! Katie’s back and sharing a few of her favorite Etsy finds for trimming the tree. Since ornaments and the like are flying off the shelves, if you see something you like, you better act fast! ~ wht
To go along with my rampant search for the cutest Christmas tree decorations ever, I have spent hours pouring through Etsy looking for ideas, inspirations, and other treasures. I’m hoping to compliment my orange, light green, pewter and copper NATURAL tree theme and Etsy, of course, did not let me down. Here are a few of my favorites so far!
• I always love the effortless look of hammered metals. These Solid Copper Holly Leaf Ornaments are a good way to subtly add hints of orange to my tree without it looking like it has a “Road Construction” theme. Plus leaves are one of my favorite decorative elements – and even though they are supposed to be holly leaves, they’re oak leaves to me – one of the most interesting shapes in nature! Each copper leaf is completely hand forged, textured and polished. $20 each
• As previously mentioned, I have a bit of an oak tree fetish. These cute Wool Felted Acorn Ornaments have an acorn in the perfect spring green (my secondary color in my living room). Plus they will all tuck nicely into tree branches and are small enough not to overwhelm the tree. And if you look through this seller’s store, angel dog designs, you’ll find you can get these little cuties in any color you so desire! Set of Six – multi colors $14
• I love the intricate tie-die look of this beautiful Orange Hand Painted Glass Heart Ornament. Of any, these beauties seem to be the most heirloom-like of all my choices. It can be a little bit difficult to find my pops of orange for the Christmas season, which might be why the pictured ornament has sold out (others are on to my orange and natural theme!) Check the schemata store for oodles of hand painted, one of a kind ornaments. $20
• A few dainty little stars to top it all off – they will shimmer in the lights and this trio of Atomic Age Ornaments will bring a bit of the winter night sky indoors. Plus – more of that spring green! These vintage 1960’s hard plastic starburst ornaments will add sparkle and style to any tree. $11.99
All in all though our favorite little crafty site, Etsy is a great way to add some individuality, and possibly sparkle, to your holiday decorations this year—especially on that tree!
