Bringing high-end beauty addicts over to the organic side one wash at a time!

I have to admit to the wht Green Monday fans that I’ve never been much of an organic product fan. I do believe in using what’s natural where you can, but it has to work too. And sadly, many organic products I’ve tried come in a distant second to my beloved high-end products. While most people seem to love it, even the smell in the air at Whole Foods overwhelms me and makes my stomach roil! So to convert me to strictly using an organic product takes a lot of doing.

Okay, you know where this is going…the product I have the extreme pleasure of reviewing this Green Monday has had me driving five cities away happily combing the aisles of my local (and not so local) Whole Foods to find it. I must admit suki’s exfoliate foaming cleanser is hands down the best cleanser I have ever used!

For me, it is so much more than a cleanser. Imagine your ultimate product being expertly applied to your face at the most luxurious spa in town. That’s how this suki gem feels to me every time I use it. I have never found another product that like this one, simultaneously scrubs, cleans and soothes, softens and brightens, and revitalizes and calms my skin.

The line’s founder and namesake, Suki Kramer, and her team of scientists struck gold when they formulated this facial cleanser. If you haven’t had the pleasure of trying it yet, don’t take my word for it, just wait for the comments from our testers and non-testers alike. The exfoliate foaming cleanser ($29.95/4 oz. jar) brings people out of the wood work, it’s so beloved. Even if our teams didn’t all technically test it this time, I’m sure they’ll be sharing their love – we’ve been waxing rhapsodic and recommending this product to friends for years. So what is in the exfoliate foaming cleanser that makes it so magical?

When you first open the jar, before even touching the product, you are immediately refreshed by the potent lemongrass scent. When you dig it out of the jar and rub it on your face, you feel a grainy, salt scrub-like texture…that immediately melts into a sugary-like texture and foams refreshingly and soothingly. It spreads easily and rinses cleanly and thoroughly. You are left with a soft, brighter, squeaky clean, but not dried out, face.

The best news for some will be that this product is vegan. Loaded with pure ingredients, my favorite, the organic lemongrass, purifies the skin (and puts me in a very happy mood!) Natural sugars (AHAs and BHAs) instantly smooth, even tone, brighten the skin, unclog pores, and help breakouts and dry skin by exfoliating the dull, dead patches on the skin’s outermost surface. Organic rice flour firms the skin and stimulates new cell growth, and chamomile soothes the skin. Other ingredients include calendula, lavender, orange peel, and algae extract – no wonder we love this!

Suki has made her mission advanced organic science and suki, inc. has succeeded in every sense. Their raw materials are hand-selected, their formulas are poured and blended in house, all of their packaging is environmentally responsible, and their business practices follow ethical guidelines. Best of all for us, the results are extraordinary!

  1. Lemongrass? Sugar? Scrubby yet foamy?! Say no more, I think I’m in love! If the description didn’t convert me, those photos have more than done the trick.

I love how the suki site has a “prescription” building tool. After answering a few quick questions your prescription is built and with the click on one button it’s in your cart! Fantastic!

  2. Yeah, say no more! I have to get my mits on some of this! I have yet to try something by suki.. I feel like I’ve been living under a rock when it comes to this line! Thanks for the FAB review! :)

  3. It’s true, there’s a handful of us here that have been Suki fans for years and years. I’m one of them! The exfoliate foaming cleanser is the only product I’ve ever used of hers, but it’s so stellar; it’s enough to plant me firmly on the Suki bandwagon.

It really is like no other exfoliant I’ve ever used. Because it foams, thank god – it foams!!! It’s my number one pet peeve in organic products, the lack of bubbles. But Suki added them to a product I don’t normally even associate with bubbles. Not even regular bubbles, they’re super creamy luxurious bubbles!

I was a bit hesitant to use this the first time, as I feared it would be too moisturizing for my oily skin. But it does indeed seem magical, removing oil where needed, adding moisture in other parts. And overall leaving skin looking fresh, glowing and healthy.

And the scent? It’s delightful, like lemon sorbet. Don’t eat it (but if a grain happens to get on your lips, it actually tastes sweet too!)

This is a 5 star product if there ever was one. Honestly, you will be BLOWN away by this cleanser! They sell it in a $10 travel size, try it and see!

  4. @mandaleem – thank you for the prescription builder info about suki’s site. That’s great to know and I bet her other products are just as outstanding or pretty darn close!

@hao9703 (Holly) – I am totally with you on the lemon scents! It’s always been a favorite, but when I was pregnant, lemon scented products were the only thing I could smell then entire time without gagging! And this scrub is my favorite of all the lemon scents ever.

@irene (Pammie) – I can’t believe YOU haven’t tried this!! You have got to or I’m going to send you some myself!

@stef – awesome photos! You captured the texture transformation perfectly in pics. And I’ve gotten it in my mouth more than once too…it’s delicious haha! Even though it’s not meant to be eaten…Yes, everyone, try the travel size and I can pretty much guarantee you’ll go back for more. This is the product I’ve given more as a gift than anything else I’ve ever found and gotten a lot of thanks in return.

    5 HUGE stars from me!

  5. My dearest Mel-@melinda – I will find this product stat..will report back to you in a few days! I love-love-love lemon scents to boot and am looking forward to finding this!

  6. @melinda – wow this sounds luxurious! I must go find it at my Whole Foods. I hate when scrubs stay scrubbly with no lather haha. I’m so glad to hear this organic product worked for you.

  7. @melinda you describe this cleanser perfectly! I was having trouble with my skin recently and remembered that @tyna had told me she loved this product. I picked it up at Whole Foods and my skin has cleared up considerably (sticking to my gluten-free ways helps too lol!). The texture, scent, everything is pleasing about this product. Sometimes I rebel and don’t want to wash my face but I’ve been excited for this “chore” lately. Such a great product.

  8. Wow, @irene (Pammie) – I can’t believe you’ve yet to try this one! Especially because as @jpal mentioned, we’re constantly talking this one up! I’ve been sharing my love of suki’s lemongrass cleanser for at least five years (when people hear you write about beauty, one question asked is almost always “what is the best face cleanser” – suki is always named!)

@jpal – glad you loved it and that suki is helping your skin. It’s true, I love using this product so much that I am more likely to wash my face before bed. That’s a nice bonus – I can be lazy when I’m sleepy.

Our reviewer @melinda and the team have done a great job describing why the exfoliate foaming cleanser is one of my dessert island items. I love the the vegan and organic ingredients that are also lush and indulgent. The lemon scent is always a burst of happiness when I open the jar and the wash itself is grainy, foamy perfection. My skin responds so well to this product – it really cleans deep, and leaves my face without any oil but with no tightness. Love it, love it, love it! 5 big, shiny stars from me.

  9. Great review, @melinda! Anything you say is the best you’ve ever used gets my attention. And you’ll even take a road trip to track it down? Whole Foods, here I come!

  10. Awww! You GUYS…quit it! I just started my love affair with Collective Wellbeing, and now you bring me THIS? Lemon-y scrubby foamy goodness?

I’m such a citrus nut, I think I might definitely need this in my life.

  11. How many years have I been using this fabulous cleanser? It seems there never has been a time when I have been without it. I keep it in the shower, where the transformative power of its Suki-ness can be regulated from scrub to foam in relation to the part of the body I’m addressing. By that I mean my sensitive puss gets the crystals-to-cream changeover before it goes on my face, but my decolletage benefits from a brisk, straight-from-the-jar exfoliating scrub before the shower stream turns it into foam. Whatever the method of delivery, this is a must-have staple in my regime. Plus, the yum factor is off the charts.

  12. I love the exfoliating cleanser! As an alex+von consultant I get to introduce others to these products :) and of course a discount for myself isn’t too bad either! I’ve struggled with adult acne for years, never had a problem in high school when everybody else did but of course later! Other routines would leave my skin terribly dry but the suki line addresses the acne without any dryness! If you’re interested in leraning more about the line and options for you please feel free to message me or check me out on FB, avbyelizabeth :)
