The Lipstick League – week of 1.2.12

Big props to Big Hub, who bought me the above Guerlain palette for Christmas without me even directly asking for it! He read a previous Lipstick League where I said “if the Place Vendôme Eyeshadow Palette was under my tree I’d give Santa a big ol’ kiss!” Needless to say, Santa got his kiss. Isn’t it gorgeous? Swatches coming soon…

Question of the Week: – What’s your favorite eyeshadow primer?

Answer: Honestly, I don’t have a primer that I LOVE. I’ll be looking at the other Leaguers and our readers to see what their choices are!

My favorite one, when I use one (I’m FAR too lazy), is still the original Urban Decay Primer Potion. I still have the one in the original packaging, but the different wand, (but it’s a mini). This means when I do get low, I’ll probably injure myself cutting it open to get all the stuff still in it (I am CLUMSY), but it’s the best I’ve used. Eden just looks crepey on me (and it’s way too dark) and Sin was too shimmery for me (that’s an eyeshadow, NOT a primer for pale ol’ me.)

Oh, and going OUTSIDE of UD, Tarte’s primer never made it passed the allergy test. I can’t remember about Too Faced. I think I tried it. *trying to remember* Yea, I’m not sure why I try new ones when the UDPP works well enough.

I use Urban Decay primer potion. It works and I’ve been using it for years. I ran out of my regular one so I’ve been using the lighter version. I also have a few little trial ones to go through as well! It’s pretty much a staple :)

Me too, Urban Decay’s primer works pretty well for me so I haven’t tried many others. LOVE the Guerlain palatte…. what a gorgeous combination of colors, maybe I can convince cupid to bring me one for Valentine’s Day!

Oh my word – that Guerlain palette is gorgeous – and those gray taupe-y colors are SO you. Nice one Derwood!

My very favorite eye primer ever is not so well known but so fab I ALWAYS go back to it (and I’ve been using the same jar for YEARS, I really need to get a new one). It’s Alexandra de Markoff Disguise for Eyes – it’s super, super creamy, blends seamlessly, covers redness or discolorations, preps for shadows and can also be worn alone for a “non make up” but fresh look. Love it and one of my true Must Haves.

Hey, me too..lately, it’s been Urban Decay Primer Potion – it works really well.. I was just saying that to @stef the other day.. It really makes a difference when using one.. and UD’s is for sure a good one. I’d also like to chime in on the same note as @tyna.. Alexandra de Markoff Disguise for Eyes is awesome! Creamy and I even like just wearing it alone.. flawless and natural looking.

oh baby, Derwood scores bigtime!! That’s some serious brownie points and many sweet kisses! It is really pretty looking in person.. @stef, will you be able to refill this palette? I couldn’t tell..
