Whoot. It’s Friday! This week at we heart this we took a gander at the aptly named Badass by Sheswai Lacquer, got hot and steamy over MAC’s Tropical Taboo collection and welcomed Benefit’s The Rich is Back palette. But life is about more than beauty products, here are a few links that made us happy this week:
• Does our image of the week have you ready to hop on a plane to Vegas? You can travel around the world (and back in time) by visiting Found, the tumblr of National Geographic Magazine. It’s constantly updated with stunning images from their 125 (!) years of incredible photography – many that were never published and rarely seen. – Found: National Geographic tumblr
• Speaking of going back in time, XOJane took a look at the middle school classic “Blubber” (by the queen of middle school lit Judy Blume) and it’s a pretty fascinating trip back to the terror of pre-teen girls. I forgot just how mean the characters in this book were! Some things (mean girls) never change, I guess. – Revisiting Your Sixth Grade Bookshelf: “Blubber”
• Feeling old yet? Here’s another bit of info to make you feel crotchety. Did you know that this year marks the 10 year anniversary of The O.C.? How is that possible? Vulture has a nice story behind the scenes of this teen-soap classic – New Girl’s J.J. Philbin Remembers The O.C. Writers’ Room
• Finally, our amazing DIY guru, Rachel, could use your help. She is one of 5 finalists in the Lindt Chocolate Christmas in July photo contest – and could win a trip to NYC over Thanksgiving for her military family. If you could take a minute to vote for her we’d heart you forever! – Click here to vote for Rachel
Readers – what links made you happy (or feel old) this week?
