MAC Studio Sculpt Defining Powder Swatches and Review
MAC has done it again with the newest addition to their Studio Sculpt line – Studio Sculpt Defining Powder. This latest product is a must-have, ladies! The sheer coverage, gel-like powder formula applies smooth as butter, gives a soft-focus finish and feels like wearing nothing at all (“nothing at all…nothing at all…” said in my best Flander’s voice).
This silky powder blends seamlessly, corrects uneven skintone, smoothes out pores, and sets makeup like a dream; the end result is perfection. The slight sheen and sheer texture keeps this looking fresh and never cakey. It’s pretty darn magical. To be blunt, y’all need this.
MAC’s Studio Sculpt Defining Powder ($32) is available in 8 shades, from the fairest Light to the deepest Deep Dark. No matter your skintone, the sheer formula guarantees that you will find a perfect match for you. The wht team received three shades – Light, Medium Plus and Deep Dark – for review
I tested out Light. I’m extremely pale and found that this was an excellent match for me. With the subtle sheen, this managed to help control shine and provided subtle highlighting – the end result is a perfect, shine-free glow.
Besides blending perfectly, this powder never cakes – if you have fine lines or wrinkles, this is so lightweight it doesn’t crease. My oily skin required a few touch ups throughout the day, but no matter how many times I applied this, it never looked cakey or like I was made up – it just kept me looking as fresh as a daisy.
I also can’t help but think I need to pick up a darker shade, too – the soft-focus finish would really lend itself well to contouring. This is not your mama’s pressed powder, ladies!
Overall, I’m in love…with a pressed powder. Please don’t tell my husband. MAC Studio Sculpt Defining Powder belongs in every gal’s arsenal.

Krista resides in the middle of nowhere with her bff/hubby and a puppy that makes feral capuchins seem mellow. She has an irrational fear of ax murder, owns more than one machete for home defense/the zombie apocalypse, and goes to sleep serenaded by the sounds of the Chupagobbler, a mythical turkey beast that roams the woods around her house. Krista has been in the Bermuda Triangle twice and still hasn’t vanished. She is super proud of that.
