KORA Organics review: did it give us skin like a model?

Billing a line as “Miranda Kerr’s secret to her flawless skin” is a great way to get my attention. I mean, have you seen Miranda Kerr’s skin? As the first Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel, cover model of every major fashion magazine, and all-around example of healthy beauty, the complexion of the “Green Goddess” is a marvel.

I’m sure genetics are responsible for Miranda’s flawless glow, but where luck leaves off, skincare can take over. In 2009 Miranda launched KORA Organics, a 100% Australian-made skincare line created with a unique blend of essential oils.

KORA Organic products are packed full of natural and certified organic ingredients. The most intriguing to me is Noni Extract, which gets top billing in every product. The ancient noni plant is a powerful antioxidant said to protect skin while aiding in regeneration. Noni is infused with over 170 minerals and vitamins… that’s powerful!

I got to test two products from KORA Organics’ extensive range.

Exfoliating Cream ($58)
The power in KORA Organics Exfoliating Cream comes from organically grown Oat Flour and Bamboo, a grainy concoction that effectively buffs away dead skin cells. The cream is appropriate for all skin types including sensitive skin. Miranda says that exfoliating two to three times a week leaves her with “fresh, new skin.”

In my quest to do the same, I found the exfoliating cream to be a little scratchy if I got too crazy with it. Just a little pressure is all it takes. The cream is great for exfoliating the body, too. Bonus: the citrus scent makes me feel wide-awake!

Hydrating Mask ($52)
This creamy mask contains Noni Extract in an aloe vera base. It is designed to calm skin, refine pores and remove dead cells when used once or twice a week on the face, throat and décolletage (but not the eye area).

With visions of Miranda’s glowing skin in mind, I applied the mask as instructed and let it set for 10 minutes. After removing it with warm water and a washcloth, my face felt super soft. As far as hydrating masks go, this one is really lovely. If I could change one thing, though, it would be the strong botanical scent– very strong for a facial product. Not a deal breaker, though.

Miranda Kerr is onto something with KORA Organics: simple, certified organic skincare that aims to bring out the Green Goddess in all of us.

Just wondering we heartsters…what other model would you buy a skincare line from?

  1. kORA sounds like an amazing line of skin care. I would love to have Rosie Huntingtons skin (drink gallons of water) – but I’d be more than thrilled with Miranda’s. :)
I love a good scrub & hydrating mask and I like that it’s just botanicals. I will definitely try out this line thanks to your review!

  2. The mask sounds divine, and maybe if we drink copious amounts of noni juice AND use the mask, we’ll get green goddess skin too? I have a fondness for the “we don’t get out of bed for less than $10,000” supes of the 90s’, so I’d buy anything from Linda Evangelista. Ooooh, can you imagine a Kate Moss skincare line? It’d be geared towards repairing sun, smoke, and alcohol damaged skin for sure!

  3. Ooh, I am intrigued by the Noni extract. I’m all about organic these days so I love seeing more options for skin care with natural ingredients… The citrus scent sounds great too for the exfoliator, just wish I had the $ to splurge right now!!!

  4. I have never heard of KORA before but can’t wait to give the line a try. I am a sucker for organic and Miranda Kerr skin. I am sold!! Great review!!
