Until I encountered the new addition to the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed collection, I had no idea that the sparkling, coppery glow of summer sunshine could be tucked into one small compact. Just take a look at Blushed Copper ($38), the line’s new, limited edition color. The compact is slim, solid and so beautiful– a rose gold and etched stainless work of packaging art! But for real art, just look inside at the faceted details of the powder.

Words like “matte and subdued” left my beauty vocabulary the second my brush touched this creamy powder luminizer.

Becca calls Blushed Copper “the first-of-its-kind” due to a unique blend of pigments and proprietary liquid binders. The traditional method of creating pressed powder basically mixes and compresses dry ingredients, which is why regular powder products can be streaky and uneven on your skin.

Thanks to Becca’s blending process, the luminous color of Blushed Copper is creamy and blendable—a true blush/highlighter hybrid designed to complement both fair and dark skin tones.

The ultra-fine pigment picks up skin’s undertones for a glow that’s unique and multi-hued. Becca calls the color “subtle pigment,” but on my NC20/25 skin, there is a whopping amount of color! With a light hand and a little blending, I am able to create a glow that works for me. The color is probably best, though, for darker skintones.

The copper color is so metallic, it reminds me of a freshly minted penny; it’s too dark to be a highlighter on me, but I found so many other uses for it. It’s beautiful as a blush, and even prettier as a topper to my regular blush. It gives a unique gleaming effect wherever I apply it.

I tried Becca’s suggestion of dabbing a bit of Blushed Copper on the center of my lips on top of gloss. Its rosy gleam does create a fuller-looking lip with a foil effect. The powder can also be used wet or dry as an eyeshadow. It contains a good amount of microglitter so use a light hand or you’ll have a face full of sparkles.

Blushed Copper looks so much like rose gold, I had to try dusting a little on my shoulders and collar bones. Yep, this is summer sunshine in a compact.

Blushed Copper does not contain parabens and, like all Becca products, is cruelty free. Available for a limited time at Sephora and online at Sephora.com.

  1. What beautiful packaging. It certainly does look like summer!! I have heard many great things about this line and after reading your review, I’d love to try them out.

  2. I always turn my head when I see Becca products.. there is something about their packaging and style that hooks me in. I think this is gorgeous! Perfect for the summer upon us!

  3. Dayumm, this is gorgeous. Too bad I already have multiple open highlighters. *sigh*

    1. Oh, there’s always room for another highlighter!

  4. I LOVED this patted over a bright pink gloss and as an eye shadow. The only thing I wasn’t entirely sold on was as a highlighter, it’s very shimmery, and a tad too dark for my NC 25/30 skintone (just as @turboterp said. I predict I’ll be reaching for it a lot more as my skintone gets a bit darker this summer, though.

  5. I got to try this one out and it really is an outstanding formula, very creamy and the color is really pretty. I have been using it as a highlighter/ bronzer in a way, it is like no other color I have. I’ve really been enjoying Becca products lately.

  6. This looks like it would make a lovely blush for a pale gal like myself…
