With help from land and sea, Aveeno’s latest will be your summer skin go-to
Living on the east coast, we are forced to have two wardrobes. Sweaters, boots and thermals for the harsh winter snow and cold, and tank tops, flip flops and shorts for summer for the 100 degree humidity, laden days.
Much like my clothing, I also have two wardrobes for my makeup and skincare. I wear heavier creams and foundations in the winter to hydrate and protect, and I use much lighter formulas in summer. Same goes for fragrance and body washes. I will use a thick and creamy body wash all winter, but as soon as the days get longer and warmer, I reach for a lighter formula.
I was asked to test the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Purifying body wash ($5.99 for 16 oz.) right when I was ready to switch to my summer shower essentials. How convenient!
In the winter, I used Aveeno body washes and moisturizing lotions with colloidal oatmeal for not only their moisturizing abilities but because they’re perfect for sensitive, cold weather skin. The Positively Nourishing Purifying body wash uses oatmeal as well, but also adds seaweed for a powerhouse combination that purifies and moisturizes.
You might think something that’s labeled “purifying” would be drying. Not the case with Aveeno and their “Active Naturals.” The finely ground colloidal oatmeal locks in moisture and is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. So is the seaweed. Both clean and nourish your skin, without stripping.
But the first thing I noticed (and liked) about this body wash was the scent. It smells fresh and sweet, in a subtle and light way. (Editor’s Note: I LOVE the way this smells! It’s my favorite body wash scent to pass by my desk all year, and that’s including ones that sell for four times as much. ~Stef)
This body wash is so moisturizing that I not only use it to cleanse, I use it to shave. My legs are never irritated and my skin is never dry. Try that with soap! My skin feels softer with each use.
I have adopted the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Purifying body washas my summer 2015 shower essential. One use and I think you will too.
