I typically put my Christmas tree up as soon as the leftovers from Thanksgiving are put away, but I’m running late this year. It’s pretty much going to be an all-day affair tomorrow from start to finish. I’m hoping copious amounts of mulled cider and eggnog give me the mental fortitude to get it done. Which brings us to this week’s 3 Things!
1. When does your tree go up? Typically on Black Friday, but it’s going up tomorrow this year because I was in Iceland this past week. And it’ll probably stay up through January. Don’t judge me.
2. Real or fake? Both. I grew up with fake trees and I have a wood stove, so my main Christmas tree is a fake because a real tree would probably dry out in a day and then burst into flames. My husband grew up with real trees, so we tuck a smaller real tree in the kitchen. I also have smaller fake trees for my bedroom, the den, and my guest rooms. I maybe go overboard on the trees.
3. Favorite ornament? It’s really hard to name just one–my husband and I have made it our tradition to get one ridiculous ornament every year—I think one of my favorites is a glass chicken carrying a tree. Why is that chicken carrying a tree? That’s crazy! *said like Brian Fellow from the Brian Fellow’s Safari Planet skit from SNL*
Your turn, we heartsters! Cut and paste the following into the comments and tell us these 3 Things:
1. When does your tree go up?
2. Real or fake?
3. Favorite ornament?
Krista resides in the middle of nowhere with her bff/hubby and a puppy that makes feral capuchins seem mellow. She has an irrational fear of ax murder, owns more than one machete for home defense/the zombie apocalypse, and goes to sleep serenaded by the sounds of the Chupagobbler, a mythical turkey beast that roams the woods around her house. Krista has been in the Bermuda Triangle twice and still hasn’t vanished. She is super proud of that.
