Including my thoughts on the Wei Mung Bean Stress Relieving Soothing Mask…
Question of the Week: What are your feelings about the current sheet mask craze? Have you ever tried one? If so, do you prefer them to traditional facial masks?
Answer: I’m happy about the craze! I think they’re fun to use and because they’re sold separately, it’s a great way to try something without having to shell out much money. Which is especially a good thing when the product doesn’t work out for you. Such was the case with the Wei Mung Bean Sprout Stress-Relieving Soothing Mask ($12 for one, $60 for 10).
Sold in a test tube vial, complete with plastic tweezers to pull the sheet out (fan-cy!), Wei’s mask is billed for imbalanced or blemished skin, and exfoliates to leave skin “calm.” Not the case for me and my sometimes sensitive skin. While it felt great on (cool and soothing) my skin freaked out. I looked like a tomato for about a half hour afterwards. Pretty much the opposite of calm.
Hence, I move on to the next sheet mask, happy to only be $12 poorer!
