We here at we heart this have a long-standing love for All Things Kiehl’s. I mean, you have to figure that any brand that’s been around since 1851 has to be doing something right. One such example of getting it right is their Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash ($29 for 7.8 oz). Designed for normal-to-oily skin types, this gel cleanser keeps skin fresh and shine-free. It also pairs very nicely with the Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner, if I do say so myself. (And just an FYI, that toner is our editor-in-chief Stef’s Holy Grail skincare product!)
This cleanser contains calendula flower extract and glycerin, ingredients that soothe and help the skin’s ability to retain moisture. While the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash is an extremely powerful cleanser, skin remains soft and clean, never dry. This is also soap-free, and contains no sulfates or parabens, which makes it suitable for even sensitive skin types.

This creamy gel cleanser seriously foams, y’all. You only need a very small amount to remove all the dirt and oil your face picked up through the day. Do not use a full pump–literally, maybe a half pump is all you really need of this wonder cleanser.
This is my favorite cleanser at the end of the day–it works great on its own, but my Clarisonic takes this amazing product to the next level. The faint herbal fragrance is really refreshing and invigorating. The best thing about this face wash is just how clean my skin feels after using it–it leaves zero residue and doesn’t leave my face feeling tight. It even removes a full face of makeup with ease. I usually need to use a makeup remover wipe AND a face wash, but I was able to skip that step with this product!
On top of combo/oily skin, my skin also has the distinction of being extremely sensitive–after using Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash, my skin felt healthy and fresh and I had zero dryness or breakouts. My skin is so sensitive that the slightest irritation will wreck my complexion for weeks and this only improved my skin tone and clarity. If you are similarly blessed with temperamental skin like myself, you’ll probably love this cleanser.
If you want to have the full calendula experience, follow the cleanser up with the Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner. Seriously, do it. I find that my combination/oily skin doesn’t even need a moisturizer at night after using these two products together and my skin is almost impossibly radiant when I use both of these. Seriously, it takes a lot to wow me, but wow.
