I have a confession to make: I almost only go to the movies in the summer. On the rare occasion, studios will release some great horror movies around Halloween. But other than that, if it’s not released in the summer, I will wait until it comes to Redbox or for Black Friday when I can buy the DVD cheap. It is my way. Which brings us to this week’s 3 Things…
1. Drive-in or standard theater? I love the drive-in–there’s a great one near my house. Sadly, the stooge in charge of making the movie pairings for double features is always getting it wrong. They always pair a movie you’d love to see with a movie you have zero desire to see. And I always get the a-hole smoking right next to my window. I usually hate standard theaters, but I did find a lovely one-room theater in a neighboring town that shows one movie during any given month, but it’s usually something very obscure. Honestly, I prefer my giant ass sofa. That’s why I almost never go to the movies.
2. What movie are you most looking forward to this summer? Ghostbusters. I love all the great comedians they chose to star in this movie and I’m going to have to go see it in a theater.
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? Um…Ghostbusters…*ducks head*. It’s been hyped soooooo much. I feel there is a slight chance this movie might poop all over my childhood. But I’m still gonna see it.
Your turn, weheartsters! Cut and paste the following into the comments and tell us these 3 Things:
1. Drive-in or standard theater?
2. What movie are you most looking forward to?
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype?
Krista resides in the middle of nowhere with her bff/hubby and a puppy that makes feral capuchins seem mellow. She has an irrational fear of ax murder, owns more than one machete for home defense/the zombie apocalypse, and goes to sleep serenaded by the sounds of the Chupagobbler, a mythical turkey beast that roams the woods around her house. Krista has been in the Bermuda Triangle twice and still hasn’t vanished. She is super proud of that.

1. Drive-in or standard theater? Summer means drive-in movies! I’m lucky enough to live near one of the few remaining drive-ins on the east coast, the Bengies. I love a triple feature under the stars!
2. What movie are you most looking forward to? Absolutely Fabulous. I doubt it will play at the drive-in, though!
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? Suicide Squad seems kind of iffy!
I love Patsy and Eddie SO much and have been dying to see the movie; it didn’t play in my town (such a travesty) but it’s at the Charles!
Come on, @amity, take a road trip and I’ll meet you there!
1. Drive-in or standard theater? Drive-in, definitely!
2. What movie are you most looking forward to? Absolutely Fabulous
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? Any big super hero-y thing I am always kind of meh over.
1. Drive-in or standard theater? I love a standard Theater more because of the sound and visual experience. However, I loved going to Drive-in theaters when we were kids and just driving.. it was always a fun time.. and you can eat and drink what you bring in the car.. That was always a plus, and less costly!
2. What movie are you most looking forward to? The Secret Life of Pets.
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? Ghost Busters..
1. Drive-in or standard theater? I loved drive-ins as a kid but there aren’t many around these days. A lot of places here in L.A. do outdoor movies in the summertime (like at Hollywood Forever Cemetary). I’ve always wanted to do that…but something always seems to come up. Actually, here in L.A. we have a lot of great theaters with great themes and history, so the choice here is almost impossible. In the end, me, hubs and the pup tend to gravitate to that home theater in our own living room: big screen, Apple TV and surround sound with a bowl of air-popped popcorn
2. What movie are you most looking forward to? There’s a new Howard Hughes movie with Warren Beatty coming out sometime soon…and it was shot at my workplace (The Beverly Hills Hotel), so I’d like to see that.
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? I’ve been in a curious hole. I don’t know what is out there right now.
1. Drive-in or standard theater? Whichever one serves beer.
2. What movie are you most looking forward to? Ghostbusters.
3. What summer movie do you think is/will be all hype? I’ve heard Suicide Squad and most of the superhero movies lately haven’t been great. But I still want to watch them.
