Picture the scene. I’m on a trip to Dollar General for my once weekly guilty pleasure. This week it’s a Mexican Coke and cheese balls, but I digress. I have a little time to kill so I decide to roam the aisles. I round a corner and what do I see? I see beauty products…lots of them. Aisle after aisle, I find a huge selection of haircare, all my favorite lip balms…I even see MAKEUP. How did I not know that my go-to for treats could also be my go-to for affordable beauty products?
I may not have known before, but I know now! Dollar General was brand name items at discounted prices, with weekly sales and coupon matching. They even have their own line of beauty products; DG Beauty; for even more savings.
Edible treats in basket, I picked up a few beauty treats to accompany them…
Two products from Nivea caught my eye. The deliciously scented Touch of Happiness body wash (scented with orange blossom and bamboo and the classic Nivea Creme in an adorable tin perfect for travel.
I go through Nail Polish Remover like water. So picking up a bottle by DG Beauty was a no brainer. Especially at the price of $1.50!
As an avid flat iron user, I’m always looking for a good heat styling spray. I already love the L’Oreal haircare line, so the L’Oreal Sleek It Itron Straight Heat Spray was right up my alley.
Finally, how pretty is this nail polish? The Broadway Gel Strong nail polish in Sparkling Stone is a shimmering taupe dream.
Everything shown here was only $18.55, and that’s including the import Coke and Cheese Balls. How amazing that all my treats, whether edible or sparkling, were under one roof?
It was my first beautyshopping trip at Dollar General, but it certainly won’t be my last. We heartsters – what’s your guilty pleasure at Dollar General? Share it in the comments!
