We all know the saying “When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade,” a metaphor for making the best out of any situation or problem. But what do you do when the situation is uncooperative hair or worse, a string of bad hair days?
I want to introduce you to my new friend by Beautiful Nutrition; Lemon Rinse ($10 for a LARGE 13.3 oz bottle). It’s the newest item in my beauty/hair arsenal. Lemon Rinse is a gentle clarifying treatment that removes build up of hair products. And the really good news, it’s very simple to use and does not involve much time.
The consistency of Lemon Rinse clarifying treatment is similar to a serum and, true to the name, it smells like lemons. It comes in 13.3 ounce squeezable plastic bottle with a secure lid that snaps. (I love secure lids, wasting product is one of my pet peeves!)
Here are the steps:
• Shampoo and Condition your hair as you normally would
• Apply lemon rinse from root to tip of your hair
• Leave it on for a few seconds
You may be thinking…that’s it? Yes, that’s it! I am going to let you in on secret. Product buildup is the number one culprit when hair looks dull and lifeless. It’s ironic that our tried and true products are to blame but, it’s a fact.
I found Lemon Rinse to be surprisingly concentrated. I have very thick, absorbent/thirsty hair and a little bit went a long way. Lemon Rinse does not contain synthetic dyes, colors or fragrances and is safe for color treated hair. It’s also paraben and DEA free.
If you have a sensitive scalp, the thought of putting lemon on it may make you hesitate. But do not fear…Lemon Rinse is designed to balance the ph of the hair to seal the cuticle and promote a healthy scalp. I have a very sensitive scalp that does not hesitate to react to most things and I had no problems at all.
My hair thrived using Lemon Rinse. It had increased shine and body, and less frizz and flyaways on the humid days.
we heartsters – what do you do when your hair is misbehaving? Would you try Lemon Rinse?
