For ten years, Pixi Skintreats has been the affordable skincare line for discerning beauty-obsessed beings on a budget. Beginning in London, the brand exploded worldwide due to their simple, natural products that work.

Flawless and fuss-free is their mantra, and, unsurprisingly, it’s mine, too. As I ride out my 40’s, I find myself drowning in an ocean of overpriced products, all promising skin-saving miracles. Pixi is one of the few that threw me a live saver I can afford.

The Skin Rescue Essentials that Pixi has lined up are to “restore, revive and reveal your radiance.” To do this, they give us Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask, Glow Mist and Overnight Glow Serum, as well as their “MUST HAVE” Glow Tonic, our editor Stef’s go-to Glycolic Acid product. We’re concentrating on the first three today and I must say, my skin seems to like this lifeline.

The Pixi Glow O2 Oxygen Mask goes on smooth in handThe Pixi Glow O2 Oxygen Mask goes on smooth…Pixi Glow O2 Oxygen Mask ($24) is invigorating. The mask pumps out like a serum but effervesce as it’s applied to your face. For me this felt like Alka Seltzer for the face: bubbly, refreshing, and my face felt better afterwards. This contains oxygen complex, vitamins, ginseng, caffeine and antioxidants.

The Pixi Glow O2 Oxygen Mask bubbles in hand…and delightfully bubbles.

Enhanced with 13 natural oils plus propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts, a spritz of this is practically life affirming. Ok, I go overboard, but this is the kind of product I go batty over.

The mist refreshes, rejuvenates and moisturizes in a non-oily way and can be used under makeup, to set makeup, or just to refresh your face. I have used many products similar to this one, and Glow Mist stacks up well against them, mostly for the exceptional moisturizing abilities. It really feels like it heals hot, itchy skin (see perimenopause, rosacea, eczema, etc.)

Pixi Overnight Glow Serum with a pixi skintreats since 1999 text outside the bottleThe Pixi Overnight Glow Serum ($24) is a concentrated exfoliating gel with 10% glycolic acid. Long touted as an anti-aging must-have, I’ve found glycolic acid (and this Overnight Glow Serum) to work will with adult acne/rosacea. Splotchiness is much less apparent and skin takes on a much more even tone when I use this. The cucumber and aloe vera are quite calming.

Since it says it can also be used daytime and my skin reacted so positively, I tried daytime use also. Unfortunately, my skin proved a little too sensitive for twice-a-day usage, so it’s back to bedtime for this one. This is definitely the biggest bargain of the bunch. While the other products mentioned feel fantastic and are totally worth the purchase, this one offers real, noticeable results.

Pixi always impresses me, and this time is no exception. From makeup to skin care, Pixi can always be counted on to give you the real results you want to see, at the price you can afford.

And let’s be superficial for a second; their packaging is just so darn cute.

Cue the Pixi lifeboat! we hearsters, are you climbing aboard? What are your Pixi skincare essentials?

  1. I love cucumber and aloe! I like the makeup setting mist they have and their matte liquid lipstick.
