    1. Could always combine “Eat Me” with “Endymion”? Might be too ‘sweet’ versus ‘rough’ though.

  1. Anything with their leather and tea together… mmm… that makes some of my favorite scents of theirs. Maybe Leather, earl grey tea, honeysuckle and vanilla.

  2. Hm… I think that if I were to create a scent, patchouli and amber would probably be involved, as well as jasmine and vanilla. Maybe with something surprising in there, like mint or citrus.

  3. I would created an ode to the earth and deep dark caverns; smells of stone, wet rocks, damp earth, heavy green herbs, kaolin, and mud.

  4. Ingred Chamberlin

I love BPAL fragrances. They’ve already thought of just about anything I would want.

  5. I couldn’t create a BPAL scent better than them. They already made my favorite combinations. Panic in Arkham Nyarlathotep and Port Royal.

  6. My own bpal scent … hmm … something with Red Musk, Vanilla, a bit of tobacco, plum … or something with vanilla, cinnamon, and maybe a bit of amber!

  7. When I was a kid, we used to make these “spice ropes” (probably had a better name) of braided yarn, with cotton balls scented with cinnamon and cloves and nutmeg other spices, and they smelled wonderful. Almost a chai tea scent but not quite. I would love to see BPAL recreate that scent. (I’d also love if I could remember what that craft was really called. Spice braid, maybe). Anyway, thanks for the great giveaway!

  8. I’d love to collaborate with BPAL!
I’d like to do a scent based on an Algernon Blackwood horror story called Wendigo with notes of Musk, Oud, blood, fallen snow, and tuberose.

  9. I’m not sure how it would work out, but if I had access to all those oils I would probably try to frankenstein together all of my favorite smells in the world! It would be a lot of fun, and probably a little scary ;)

  10. I love amber and wear it a lot, but I my scent would have to involve leather, musk and conifer/wood, with a trace of stone and snow – a winter horseback ride in the mountains.

  11. Very simple, innocent, exotic floral, no twists, no bites, no catches….. Yellow champaca, creamy sweet jasmine and whitest of white musks!

  12. Oh gods I’ve done this exercise so many times! :D

I would do one to remind me of a corner tobacconist I used to patronize: three tobaccos (Virginia, Burley, and BPAL’s French Tobacco single note); cocoa; cigar boxes; magazines; and clove cigarettes.

  13. My scent would be something warm and spicy like carnations with amber and a tiny bit of vanilla.

  14. BPAL makes wonderful Cognac scents.. so Cognac, tobacco, a bit of carnation, myrrh, vanilla, sandalwood.

  15. If I could create a scent… it would be something with pomegranate, and maybe some kind of floral. I don’t know anything about perfume, haha.

Probably I’d just make a million more Neil Gaiman scents.

  16. If I could make a BPAL scent, it’d be the scent of my violin after I’ve been playing for a while. Rosin from the strings, velvet from the case, wood warmed by my hold, and a hint of whatever perfume I was wearing that has sunk in where I cradled the wood with my neck and shoulder.

  17. I recently created a fall time tumblr called October Woods. Seeing that it is my favorite month and my favorite time of year, my custom scent would include wood smoke, a bit of an earthy smell, maybe a hint of sweetness like caramel apples. :)

  18. If I could create a BPAL oil, my scent would be sweet and floral, a little fruity and with a surprising twist; something like vanilla, ylang ylang, raspberry, orange blossom and leather.

  19. It’d be something earthy, dark, and mysterious. Oakmoss and burning leaves… the scent of dirt and a touch of tobacco and teak. Maybe a note of cassia and musty books and old wood. =)

  20. I adore BPAL! I like their more foodie blends that aren’t cloyingly sweet. If I had my way Beth would make a version of Pickled Imp that also included some sort of resin to round it out. Mmmm…cinnamon and vanilla.

  21. If I could create a BPAL oil.. it would be a mashup of existing BPAL scents.. maybe bit of toned down Snake Oil.. a hefty dash of Morocco and topped off with Defututa without the cinnamon.

  22. Custom BPAL scent? I’d ask for Siberian musk, amber, beeswax, nutmeg, and aged leather bound books.

  23. My scent would be that of vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting and a strawberry on top. Either that or apple crumble with vanilla ice cream on top.

  24. I would love to have my own BPAL scent! ;) Mine would be a honey jasmine green tea with a base of dark patchouli and amber. :) Like a cup of tea and incense!

  25. Dark, woody and mysterious. Some magic, certainly. I love dry heavy woods, spices without being classically Middle Eastern, some herbs and a touch of sweet. Pink pepper. More wood. That kind of scent that makes you breath in deeper and never get enough, languid and powerful. Yes, that it would be!

  26. I would love to find a floral scent that I didn’t hate. I’m just not a floral girl. Amber, patchouli, vanilla, musk, tobacco, and spices. Oh, and pepper. I cried when my Three Witches ran out.

  27. I’m a long time bpal fan, so I would make Haloes available in the general catalog, and re-release honeysuckle single note, both of which are favorites of mine. They have so many unique and wonderful fragrances at the Lab. I’ve been trying out their scents since 2006, and I am still discovering New favorites.

  28. I’d love to create something very herbal, woodsy, and spicy. I like ginger, patchouli, cedar, sage, sandalwood, bergamot, grapefruit, and rosemary.

I also enjoy mixing bright herbal notes with flowery scents, like orange blossom, lavender, rose, penny-royal, ylang-ylang, jasmine, fig, or natsumikan.

    1. Oh! Also clove and beeswax and pink pepper. How could I have forgotten them? My favourite mix for myself usually involves some combination of two herbal / woodsy / spicy oils, and one floral / fruity.

(I tend to prefer fruity scents with a bite: lime, tangerine, grapefruit, blood orange. Or things like lemon verbena, or pear. ) Mixing oils is so much fun!

  29. I’ve always wanted a scent with rose, amber and clove. Just those three notes! I might have to just make it myself.

  30. I have a huge collection of BPAL. I cannot conceive of creating a scent, I am simply an admirer. I do know that some of my favorite notes are oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli, and vanilla. Does that help?

  31. my custom scent would be a rich delicious vanilla and golden amber with a cakey note but not too overtly sugary :-0

  32. I have amassed a treasure trove of BPAL, and I could never create a scent on my own. But I can tell you some of my favorite notes: oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver, vanilla, copal, myrrh, I could go on and on….

The hair gloss sounds amazing, and I haven’t tried the glosses yet =)

  33. Marjolein Mattaar

If I could create a BPAL scent, I would wish it to be more than one scent because what I love differs from day to day. But if it has to be just one, it would probably have a light wood note, some sweetness of resins, with spices and a bit of patchouli. And perhaps a citrus like mandarin or blood orange to top it off.

  34. I have always wanted a scent that smelled like Hawaii, a mix of plumeria, with rain, damp, sunshine and that spice that lingers in the air. I have been hoping for this scent for ages!

  35. I’d love a scent with Siberian Musk, black leather, amber, vanilla, a touch of patchouli, and some kind of deep dark fruit, like black cherry.

  36. A mournful, poignant scent, thick with foreboding. Soft golden amber darkened with a touch of murky black musk. Oeeeh what is not to love here!

  37. If I could create my own BPAL scent, it would probably be a rosemary/vanilla/lavender blend… sweet, creamy, and herbal.

  38. I’d probably go with something involving cinnamon and leather, with maybe a hint of frankincense and musk.

  39. I love Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab!
If I could make a scent for them… bourbon vanilla, black patchouli, ginger, and a splash of grapefruit

  40. I love BPAL, I have there alice in wonderland stuff and it is great. I would love to give these new products a try.

I would use something with the smell of nature, fresh grass and jasmin.

  41. Solar Accord, Jasmine Sambac, Green Notes, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Transparent Amber.

    Rafflecopter: Rosie Areola

  42. If I could get my very own BPAL scent, it’d be something with coffee/chocolate notes (like El Dia de los Reyes) or something sugary that actually STAYS on my skin (like Loli.Goth, which I literally bought the last bottle of and it’s SO AMAZING).

  45. I love amber, I would love to win this, if I had the chance to create a BPAL oil it would smell like Prada Amber perfume, my #1 scent. Thanks for the opportunity!!

  47. Something really dark and heady…..old patchouli, amber, some sweet hashish and tobacco…..maybe a pinch of some dark sweet fruit like a sticky fig, or even a thick blood orange
Thanks so much for this fab giveaway!!! I’ve become quite smitten with BPAL

  48. If I could create my own scent I would most probably make a fresh clean scent with lavender and vanilla in it. A bit sweet smelling but fresh, like a first fall eastern day.

  49. If I could create a scent it would have to be a fresh clean scent with a bit of sweetness like lavender and vanilla. You know the scent on the first day of an Eastern fall day? I would want to capture that and add some vanilla and lavender! :D

  51. Most of the perfumes I like are sweet, and have notes of vanilla, amber, mandarin orange, pink pepper, and/or caramel, so I would make a combination of some of those notes.
Or I’d try to bottle the beautiful smell of the sampaguita flower, a type of jasmine. It’s the national flower of the Philippines, and every time I go home I am reminded how lovely that scent is :)

  52. “The Gentleman”

Vanilla, Bourbon, Tobacco, Musk, andthe tinest amount of Patchouli. I love the idea of a really sexy manly scent on a woman and I always gravitate towards fragrances that reflect that. Think Kate Walsh Boyfriend, which is one of my favs!

  53. I would like to see more scents with Freesia. Maybe add some Cucumber and Watermelon or Pear depending on taste.

  54. I’m addicted to their “Infortunes de la vertu” so I can hardly imagine a better scent. Perhaps something with honey and amber and a touch of smoke?

  55. Almost forgot to say the BPAL scent I’d create would definitely be something in keeping with their dark & mysterious image–maybe a scent with patchouli, myrrh, & cinnamon.

  56. lilac , bergamot , any natural e oil scent like frankincense , rose , etc.. ylang ylang
    tumblemumbo at gmail dot com

  57. I love me some foodie blends: my BPAL would be straight-up dessert. Thick fudge brownies with vanilla and maybe some mint. Yum!

  58. I love BPAL!
I’d love a vial of Haunted Oil and a bottle of Amber & Patchouli Hair Gloss! Oh, great perfume makers, pick me to win the giveaway!
