Nutrisystem Week Twenty Seven – Mara’s Success Story

I draw strength from Nutrisystem success stories like Mara’s. As I near the end of my journey, but still half way to my goal, I need some inspiration to bring it through the home stretch! If you’re diabetic (like Mara), don’t forget Nutrisystem has a program just for you.

we heart this: What was your total weight loss? Mara: 36 pounds.

Was it more or less than your goal? I wanted to lose 20 more pounds.

How long were you on the plan? One year.

Are you still on Nutrisystem now? No, I am not currently on Nutrisystem.

How did you decide to sign up for Nutrisystem? After I finished the TV show Dance Your Ass Off, I found out about Nutrisystem and wanted to continue on my weight loss journey.

Did you have an “ah-ha” sort of moment where you decided it was time to lose weight? Yes because of my health, I am a Type-2 Diabetic.

What were/are your favorite Nutrisystem meals? Beef Stew, Grilled Chicken Breast, Vegetable Lasagna, Chocolate chip scone, Cinnamon Bun Bar and Zesty Herb Snack Mix.

What food did you miss the most, and did you find substitutions for it while you were on the program? I missed french fries! There really wasn’t a substitution for fries. (Agreed, there’s only one French fry! ~Stef)

Were you scared to go back to “real” food? No I wasn’t because the food selection for Nutrisystem is so great, you really don’t miss a lot.

Can you give us some tips that worked for you with transitioning? Yes, continue to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day and substitute your Nutrisystem meals with regular meals that have similar amounts of protein.

How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight? I feel such a sense of pride now with my health! I’m so happy that I have taken control of my life and that I put my mind to a goal and I accomplished that goal.

What do you enjoy doing more now? Hiking, swimming and all things NATURE!

      Awesome @lipglossandspandex – your running dedication inspires me. Years ago I was a regular runner and I am trying hard to find the motivation to start again. Hearing that you are getting faster and building endurance is great – once the weather starts to turn I think I may just go for it!
