Lately, at the Shay House, our go-to Summer Smoothie recipes involve cool cucumber, kale and frozen black cherries. It’s super-tasty, so the little ones won’t even know there are veggies in there! Need a quick healthy start to your day? Look no further.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt
- 2 cups sliced Cucumber
- 2 cups Kale
- 2 cups frozen Black Cherries
(Don’t you love when a recipe uses equal amounts of everything? So easy to remember!)
This recipe is so easy, there aren’t even directions: just blend all ingredients. For best results, put the yogurt in the blender first. For further best results, serve in a frozen mug. This recipe makes 2 large smoothies, share it with someone you love.

This looks so delicious–making this right away! I love frozen dark cherries in smoothies, but I never thought to mix them with cucumbers. One of my fav summer smoothies is ice, carrot chunks, a knob of ginger, a half an apple…blend it up till smooth and then sprinkle a little cayenne pepper on top. It’s sweet and spicy.
Mmmm, a cherry smoothie sounds delicious! I am not entirely sold on the kale though, but I believe the Shay House knows what they’re doing.
I like kale once out of every 20 times I try it. Just enough to make me keep trying it.!
Can’t wait to try this! It looks so easy to make! I have everything less the Kale, but have some powder that I love to put into drinks by “Garden of Life”, it’s an excellent product.(Perfect Food Raw Organic Green Super Food)
This looks so refreshing! This would be a great way to start the day. I will totally be blending this one soon. Yummy!!!
Looks great! I love smoothies – I’ll definitely be trying this one out.
