Urban Decay – Urban Lash Kit review

Glamour, here you come…

Fill in the blank: False lashes are the _______ way to add glamour to any look. If you said “best” – you are 100% correct. If you said “easiest” or “quickest”, I’d love to know what you’ve been smoking. Though well worth the effort, applying falsies is never going to be as easy or quick as plain ol’ mascara. But, with quality products and ONE amazing tip (yes, one), you can certainly make the process easier and quicker.

The new Urban Decay Urban Lash Kit ($30) has four products that together make one sexy pair of eyes! The kit contains:

• a pair of Urban Lashes in Minx – these jet back synthetic lashes are very full and lush, with a pretty and subtle flare at the ends. This honestly may be the most gorgeous everyday lashes I’ve ever worn. Meaning, no rhinestones or feather tips, just a beautiful, wearable shape.

Lash Adhesive – latex-free glue in the coolest iridescent tint. It makes it really obvious to see and fun to apply (I actually let out an “oh!” ) but dries completely clear.

• a travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero – is it possible for one to have too many black eyeliners? Especially when it’s an award winning, gold standard one like this. Answer: no!

Urban Lash False Lash Mascara – perhaps my favorite part of the kit. It’s an extra glossy mascara with an extremely liquid consistency. The wetness of it, combined with the small sized applicator allows you to really work it into both sets of lashes (false and real) and seamlessly blends them. LOVE this product.

Here’s the tip: When I learned this, I felt like I turned from falsie novice to pro overnight (and it’s deceptively simple). When applying, look DOWN into a mirror. The ideal scenario would be a pedestal type mirror, tilted and positioned under your chin. This allows you to see you lash line very clearly and massively cuts down on blinking. It works, trust me (and the makeup artist who taught be who used to apply 10 pairs of lashes a day!)

Combine that tip, with the incredible Urban Lash Kit from Urban Decay and you’ll have a much quicker and easier route to glamour then you’ve ever taken before!

I’ve always had a hard time applying falsies but these look so good I may have to try again! I really like that, as you said, they are a little more everyday than some out there. Plus, coming from Urban Decay I know the adhesive and mascara will be top notch. They look great!

Oh man, the moment I saw this kit I wanted it. It’s awesome that it comes with the mascara and tinted glue. Thanks for the tip as well, I can’t wait to try that the next time I’m applying lashes.

I don’t wear lashes often but I do like them for special occasions or when I know I’m going to get my picture taken. This is now added to my wishlist.

I used to wear them for special occasions, but I can’t wear false lashes anymore. I’m allergic to the glue. All of the glues I’ve looked at contain latex and normally formaldehyde (and fragrance). I’m allergic to both. What’s the point of having falsies if you’re allergic to the glue?

Those look great on you @stef! I like these because they look so natural. I’ve only worn them a few times but I like wearing lashes for special occasions. I can see my mom in my minds eye putting on hers for a fancy dinner of night out dancing. They are easier to put on than you would think. A couple of times and you should be pros! I’m impressed with Urban Decay’s lash kit.. will def. look at them next time I’m at Macy’s :)
    Great review!

These look great, and easy to use. My only question is are they reusable? I would think that applying mascara to them would make them harder to apply a second time. One of the lessons I learned about lashes is that spending a little more money is worth it, so make sure they are reusable. But that said, this is the kind of thing I would certainly purchase for big occasions when I know I’ll have my picture taken a lot. I love the style of these lashes!

@pinkshaya , that’s exactly what I was wondering! If these are reusable, I’m going to treat myself to this kit for sure. I love the look of falsies for a night out and I would love to try out your “look down” tip, @stef .

I’ve only worn fake eyelashes a few times…and only for short amounts of time. I’m so paranoid about one peeling off and me not noticing or something…like a stranger would come up to me and be “Uh, you dropped something…” That being said–these really look super natural–they just enhance your peepers @stef —very nice!
