MAC Fabulousness: Primped Out Eye Look Bag in Decadently Pink – review, photos & swatches

A leopard print bag of goodies for perfectly pretty holiday eyes

Holiday season has officially arrived and you know what that means, three little words that send all glam girls into a frenzy….MAC HOLIDAY KITS! And here at we heart this, we’re celebrating the season with a week of MAC-centric posts.

Go ahead, squeal with glee, (I know I did), and then rush to your nearest MAC Store, because you know these babies are going fast. It never fails, every year I don’t just add a MAC set to my wish list, but one in EVERY style. I buy a few, as gifts of course, but end up getting a couple for my own stocking. It’s a sad display, but who can resist? This year they make it even easier with the Give MAC gift finder where you can shop the holiday specials by color, price or category.

MAC’s Primped Out Eye Look Bags ($46.50 each) are nicely priced and make a perfect gift to give, or to keep. With a great choice of color combos, each collection has an eye shadow duo, a Powerpoint Eye Pencil, MAC’s Opulash Mascara and a special edition Medium Angled Shadowing Brush. Plus, you will love the little leopard-print bags with retro kisslocks that each kit is housed in.

I tested the Decadently Pink set (there is also Drama Taupe and Sensual Peach). If you like deep wine and plum shades, this one’s for you. The leopard-print bag is SO chic and a perfect travel size. I instantly popped a couple lipsticks in mine and threw it in my purse.

Radial Pink shadow (an icy pink shimmer with a frost finish) is the only actual “pink” in this bag, but with the icy shimmer it looks more lavender. The deep, rich Shadowy Lady (a matte blackened, smoky plum) and Bordeaux eye pencil (deep wine creme) looked amazing when paired with it. Worth noting: the beautiful Shadowy Lady can also be found in the All For Glamour Gorgeous Bronze kit (review coming later this week!)

Applying these pretty shadows is a a breeze with the enclosed 275 SE (that means Special Eddition ya’all! ~wht) Medium Angled Shading Brush. This soft brush is a bit of a multi-tasker as it can be used to apply color all over the lid or the brow bone and then with a flip of the brush the slanted tip fits into the crease for a sweep of deepening drama. This brush is the perfect little size and offers a lot of control.

This was my first experience with MAC’s Opulash. Bad, Bad Black goes on smooth, without clumping. It gave my lashes great coverage, but sadly left them a bit crispy to the touch.

Along with the eye bags, MAC’s Primped Out collection also has two lip bags to choose from. So you’re bound to make someone very happy for the holidays. I will be asking Santa for a couple more from MAC’s Holiday Collection and can’t wait to give some as gifts. After all, who wouldn’t want a hot little leopard purse filled with MAC goodies?

So ladies – whether you’ve been naughty or nice, will MAC’s Primped Out Eye Bags make it on your wishlist?

LOVE this bag! The colors are really pretty on and I am really liking the Powerpoint liner. The special edition brush is great too, has a lot of control, I’m really enjoying it. The bag is just the right size and I love that it can be rinsed or wiped down and won’t get all gross.

Love this little Holiday collection – the bag alone is calling my name. Super cute print, retro kisslocks and cleanable – what’s not to love? The colors of the shadow and liners are very me as well.

And I dig the fact that you get a nice quality, all-purpose brush in the deal as well. MAC makes such great brushes – I have a few that have lasted me for years without shedding or degrading in any way. Their brushes are a great investment, and this kit includes a fab one that when you include the shadow, liner, bag etc is basically free!
