Jouer Little Black Dress -Swatches and Review

Every chic and stylish woman needs basics. Basics, like a little black dress, are classic pieces that stand the test of time, and are still cool among the sea of changing fashions. Being a Gemini, I am drawn to wild, stand out pieces, and am lacking where basics are concerned. I have a purple faux fur, pink Manolo Blahniks, and enough shadow colors for a peacock, but ask me for a basic black pump or a LBD, and I have nothing for ya!

This is why I need more Jouer Cosmetics in my life. Jouer is the little black dress of makeup. (They even have a palette to prove it; Little Black Dress but we will get into that in a minute.) Founder Christina Zilber believes make-up should be “classic and effortless, enhancing a woman’s natural beauty, never overpowering it.” This line has all the basics and perfect colors every woman needs to have a classic makeup wardrobe.

Each color is soft and timeless and will enhance any woman’s natural beauty. Even better is each eye shadow, blush and lip gloss can be ‘clicked’ together to make your own customizable palette. And clicked apart for use or travel. How ingenious!

With my need for an everyday look, I was thrilled to try Jouer’s Little Black Dress ($68). The palette is ‘easy elegance at its best’. The palette has four products – two shadows, a blush and a lip gloss – that can be used as individuals, or fit together to create an easy to carry, do-it-all palette. So, I could complete various looks with these four products!? Nice.

LBD comes with a Pink Champagne, a pinkish nude eye shadow, Licorice, an inky black shadow, plus a soft (fits everyone) blush in Rose and a matching lip gloss in Divine.

The color payoff on the shadows and blush is luxe and long-wearing. The gloss is subtle and glides on nicely with a handy doe foot applicator. Each product has some snaps, or slides on the other product to neatly fit together in a nice palette.

I already had Jouer’s Praline, a shimmery shadow I use daily as a highlighter which I eagerly snapped onto my foursome as well. The packaging is sturdy, and SO innovative as it snaps or slides together.

As a Gemini, the Jouer line may just have what I am looking for – timeless basics for a chic look that I can customize to fit my changing needs! I love versatility in a product, and being able to create your own palette by simply clicking together my favorite shades. I look forward to adding to my palette pieces just like I would a timeless wardrobe!

Readers – have you ‘clicked’ with Jouer yet? What are your favorite products?

I too was already a fan of Jouer products. But I am here to tell you that this little set has pushed me over into super fan stalker status!! Wow!! I have used everything in it at least once a week since receiving it. The products perfectly coordinate or are great on their own. They give you the easy, classic polish of a little black dress, you know the one that makes it look like you are gorgeous with out even trying. Everything about these products are special from their performance to the gorgeous packaging!! Everyone asks me what is that and where can I get one?!
