Prepare for takeoff this season with Benefit’s travel ready kit

Benefit's travel ready kitphotos: we heart this

Are you having a yen for makeup adventure? Buckle up and prepare for takeoff. It’s going to be a high-flying holiday season thanks to Benefit’s unbelievably fabulous gift sets, including the one I tested, She’s So Jetseticon ($36). This “posh and polished” makeup kit has everything you need for a flawless look, at home or away. So get packing; I’m taking you on a little trip.

Benefit's travel ready kit outside packaging

First, let’s visit the box… yet another triumph of design from Benefit, whose packaging really might turn me into a beauty hoarder someday. Just check out the cool, mod graphics on the lid, then peek inside the box.

Benefit's travel ready kit

You can take a glimpse at your pretty face with the generously sized, good quality mirror – then ponder the possibilities of this array of products. With the lid in the upright position, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of this kit’s travel-sized treasures:

4 shade eyeshadow palette with double-ended applicator

4 shade eyeshadow palette with double-ended applicator:
These four frosty neutralss work together or separate to make your travel-weary eyes sparkle. The colors are appropriate for any skintone, and although you might prefer to use your own brushes, the sponge tip applicator works great in a pinch.

Two shades of First class face powder with brush

First class face powder with brush:
Two shades of powder to perk up your cheeks: light peach with a sheen, and medium pinky coral. The kit includes a cute little brush for on-the-go touchups.

they're real! mascara in a light-colored mascara

they’re real! mascara:
A mini-sized version of Benefit’s new and already legendary jet black mascara, which delivers on its promise to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and separate lashes. Now that I’ve tried it, I understand why they’re real! has such a following. Of all the products in She’s So Jetset, they’re real! is the first one I’ll be buying in full size.

The POREfessional

The POREfessional:
Don’t be fooled by the mini-sized tube. Just a dab of this fab primer will help makeup go on smoothly, minimize pores, and even diminish flaws in travel-weary complexions. The balm is silky, lightweight and oil-free, and the neutral color works with every complexion.

life on the A list lip gloss

life on the A list lip gloss:
This sheer peachy pink gloss can be worn alone as a bare lip enhancer or over lipstick to add dazzle and dimension. The moisturizing and non-sticky formula packs tons of shine, too. I love this previously-discontinued color so much, I’m hoping Benefit puts it back in their regular line.

And, to help your look lift off, She’s So Jetset! includes a Tips & Tricks folio to show you how to best “bring out the jetsetter in you.”

Pros:
Box is small enough to tuck neatly in tote or suitcase
Colors are universally flattering
Mini products are so nice, you’ll want to buy the full-sized versions of at least a few
When the products are gone, you can keep the gorgeous box

Cons:
Eyeshadows are all frosted, which might not work for some people

I love the handy size of the products and the box itself, and won’t venture far without it this holiday season. And, for gift giving occasions, I can’t imagine a makeup wearer who wouldn’t be over the moon about this kit. So jet over to the Benefit counter and treat yourself or your girlfriends to a beauty upgrade.

  4. Looks like a good set for the value, all the colors are pretty neutral but I do love the Champagne Please with it’s shimmer. I am also looking to try out the Porefessional.

  5. Ooooh it’s too cute! The idea and product types make this a very travel-worthy palette, but I’m not so sure about the colors. POREfessional is a great product.
