Banish the Winter Blues with Cargo’s Sunny Combo!

I’m in the midst of yet another Snowpocalypsemageddon up in New England and for probably the tenth time today, I’m wishing I lived somewhere sunnier, somewhere with a beach.

The dreariness and the ice and the cold are sucking the cheer right out of me, which is almost impossible to do. While a vacation is out of the question right now, I can definitely “fake it ’til I make it” with some help from the Cargo BeachBlush.

Cargo-BeachBlush-2

One part blush, one part bronzer, I can wear these beauties and pretend I’m sipping mimosas on a white sand beach, far away from the three feet and counting of snow outside. Thank you, Cargo Cosmetics. You’re better than chicken soup for the soul right now.

Each BeachBlush ($30) combines four complimentary shades of blush and bronzer to create a perfect blend of color and radiance. The end result is a gorgeous flush and the sun-kissed glow my pasty self desperately needs right now (And I’m not a bronzer girl, folks! That’s how dire things have become.)

Packed in a sleek silver compact, these bronzer/blush combos also contain light reflecting mica, which imparts a shimmery glow that gives the illusion of a more refined skin tone. My horribly unrefined skin tone is thankful for that.

These also contain nylon 12, which acts like a sponge to absorb unwanted oil and eliminate shine. I’ve often thought that blush can make everything better, but now I know it.

Available in five shades, I tested two Cargo BeachBlush hues:

Echo Beach – Berry bronze
Cable Beach – Pink bronze

You can see the berry and pink bases on our swatches (that’s Stef’s NC25/30 above), but on my very pale self, these both looked very similar. You know that shade of plum or raisin that skews a little orange? That’s what these looked like on me. That shade is flattering, but it is worth mentioning.

Since these contain four shades that swipe together to form one color, I’d definitely recommend that you swatch first if possible to see what works best on your skin tone. Whether your skin skews yellow or pink will also impact how these will read on you. You’ll want to swatch these for a customized flush.

    1. @amity—Thanks! Me, too! I currently have one foot of snow on the ground, but I think we’re going to have a 50 degree day this week, so I’m hoping that’s gone soon. I need to see grass again—soon! :)

  2. You are the blush queen, @krista , so praise from you means I need to check these out! I’ve always loved Cargo’s cool packaging. I’ve bought their lip gloss but never tried their blush. Here’s to spring!

    1. @turboterp—If you haven’t tried Cargo blush yet, I HIGHLY recommend starting with Catalina. That’s how I got hooked. It’s a perfect pop of medium pink that instantly brightens your face and is so perfect for spring. Trust me ;)

  3. I have always loved Cargo blushes. They are beautiful! I love the built in blending. It always makes for the perfect shade. I totally need a beach glow right now. I seriously can not pick a favorite. I want them all!! Sadly though I have been having some difficulty finding Cargo products in my area lately.

  4. I have a Cargo blush/bronzer like that somewhere in my makeup stash. I love the cute and compact tin.
