Etsy 4 for Friday – summer cocktails

Ahh, Friday! Here in the States, we’re celebrating Memorial Day and a 3 day weekend – plus it’s the unofficial kickoff to the outdoor entertaining season! Normally, I spend this holiday weekend at Stef’s house in the desert where she spoils us with grilled foods and strong, icy drinks.
However, this year, I’ll be home in Los Angeles, where my little apartment complex of five holds a small soirée in our shared courtyard. I’ve already decided to serve our Lemongrass Mojitos, but (somehow with a stocked, cramped bar cabinet) I lack the “required” tall, Collins-like glasses.
So it’s off to Etsy this 4 for Friday to find some cute outdoor entertaining goods for the long, hot summer ahead…
• First up, the perfect mojito glasses! I am in love with this trio of Tall Vintage Libbey Barware Glasses with Faux Bois Accents. The metal banding and mod colors of gold, green and brown feels like summer, especially with the contrasting vinyl wood grained bottoms. They’re perfect for a deck party! Glasses are well insulated to keep drinks cool, and are in great vintage condition. $16.50
• Over the years, I learned every kitchen needs a muddler and this Handmade Cherry Muddler is sure to get a lifetime of use! You’ll reach for this tool for all sorts of cocktails, or to mash fruits (like berries) and herbs, and to get a finer grain on salts, sugars, peppers and more. This handmade unfinished Cherry wood muddler has a flat bottom and a slightly tapered handle with a rounded top. $20
• Planning on hosting lots of outdoor events this year? From cocktail hour to grills (and spills) – do it all in style wearing this Hostess/Halter Apron. Finally, an apron with a flattering, dare we say sexy, cut – no potato sack shape here! This pink and green halter-style apron was created with fabric from Heather Bailey Designs, is fully lined and features a hidden side pocket and pleated hot pink ruffle on the v-neck. Fits S to L – $35
• Finally, here’s the perfect accessory for that apron, a Vintage Hot Pink Heller Serving Tray! Made of a very durable melamine, this tray was designed in 1964 by Massimo Vignelli when “it won the first Compasso D’oro Award for good design.” Show your guest your good design and fab style by serving them from this bright and cheery retro piece. Handwash only. $35
Happy Memorial Day and enjoy the outdoor entertaining season! How are you kicking it off this weekend?
Great finds @tyna! I’ve been really obsessed with drinks with various muddled things in them, so that muddler is very tempting. I would muddle so much mint and fruit!
I’m with @kari – any drink that requires a muddler is awesome!
Since I’ve got a nice wooden muddler already, I’m obsessing over that incredible serving tray!
OMG, I neeeeed that apron! :P I’m going on a long run, maybe helping a friend primer her house, having some friends over for dinner, and hopefully catching up on sleep!!!
Mmmm, mojitos! Like the others, I love a good drink requiring a muddler. And to think, all this time I’ve been “getting by” with a spoon rather than a proper muddler! I think it’s time to get some grown up bar equipment. No more need to be embarrassed by my college-esque muddling!
I have always wanted to be a cool cat who sips summertime cocktails by the pool ala Mad Men. I need some cool stuff to make this happen. Fun stuff @tyna!
thank you for the lovely feature…I heart vintage barware! I loved mojitos my first go round in Puerto Vallarta.
You’re welcome Barbara @ionesattic! We love all the barware and cool vintage stuff in your etsy store. Happy to hear the Libby Barware Glasses went to a good home!
