Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Spray review…here’s why it’s our Product of the Week

Name: Fekkai Soleil Beach Waves Tousling Spray ($19.99 for 5 oz)

What it does: It’s a sea salt texturizing spray that gives you touchable texture with volume and shine.

Why we love it: It’s a good day when a Fekkai trio enters my testing arena! A long time fan of the line, I really can’t recall a product that I tried and didn’t like. The Soleil collection is no exception.

Sun lovers everywhere will feel like this line was made specifically for them. Whether you’re aiming to protect your hair from the sun, or mimic the sun-kissed tousled look of a day at the beach; Fekkai has you covered. Plus, it’s from their salon in St. Barths, so it’s truly the real beachy deal.

Soleil was created as a three piece regimen. But, you can use separately too, you’re a footloose and fancy free French island girl with gorgeous hair, you don’t follow rules!

You might see the Pre-Soleil Hair Mist ($19.99) as a luxury, but hair needs sun protection too (especially if you color it.) Give it a shake and you’ve got that, plus added shine.

The Apres Soleil Creme ($19.99) feels like a giant “ahhhhh” for dry hair. And it is! Formulated with nourishing sunflower seed oil, it hydrates and shines without greasiness or heaviness. I’ve been reaching for this quite a lot.

But the product I’m reaching for most, our Product of the Week, is the Soleil Beach Waves Tousling Spray. I blame it on the impending summer season that I am having a real moment with beach hair. My flat iron is getting dusty and my hair just can’t be textured enough!

Have you ever used sea salt spray and it left you with crunchy, tangled hair? Me too. That’s not the case here. Beach Waves Tousling Spray (like the Apres Soleil Creme) also includes sunflower seed oil. So the sea salt gives you volume and texture, the seed oil gives you shine and softness. The result? Perfectly tousled hair that looks like you just came from frolicing in the surf.

I do think the “waves” in the name refer to the waves of the ocean. I have very straight hair so this doesn’t magically make it wavy. But it does give it what I call “piecey oomph”

Bonus point: It smells incredible, a bubbly light citrus that’s reminiscent of a cocktail. And here’s a secret, the “undone” look is the lazy girl’s secret weapon and the perfect way to hide less than clean hair. Not that I know that first hand or anything…

  2. I love Fekkai, and I loooove beachy hair. Right now my hair is too short and thick for that though–I need to get it thinned out.

  3. What a super review of one of my all time fave lines! I’m eager to try the Après Soleil Cream. My hair needs help
