Gift number five in our Ten Last Minute Holiday Gifts at Sephora special is so up my alley, I feel like my name should be on the front of it! It’s Samantha’s Smoky Eye set, from Buxom, a $70 value for just $42, and it gives you everything you need for a sultry smoky eye perfectly paired with shimmering nude lips.
Buxom Stephanie, err- Samanthha, has 3 full size products (whoa, what a deal!) plus a brush that is perfect for the smoky task…
• Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Samantha – I love Buxom glosses! They’ve got great pigmentation, a plush feeling and a minty tingle. Samantha, a light, creamy shimmering nude, is no exception. This is so perfect with a dark eye, it should be a crime. The nude shy may not be a fan, but for me-a nude addict, this is amongst the prettiest I’ve seen.
• Smoky Eye Stick in Smokin’ Pistol – This is a deep coal black creme shadow pencil (very similar to MAC greasepaint sticks). It’s super pigmented and the perfect base for a smoky eye.
• Buxom Smoky Eye Brush – ah, the pièce de résistance! This brush is magical. A small, slightly pointed brush that allows you to concentrate on smudging out your shadows. Dense enough so that you can really get in there, but not so hard that you smudge it all away. LOVE!
• Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black – What a delightful surprise this turned out to be! The wand is made of tiny plastic bristles that really get into your lashes to coat them. I do wish the tip was tapered (not loving this new trend), but the formula is fabulous. It creates the long and separated lashes that I crave.
I love a traditional, black smoky eye. But don’t forget, you can try a smoky eye in just about any shade you can imagine. Try gray if your not quite ready for bold black. A deep plum is gorgeous, as is a olive green. Smoke out your chosen shadow with this amazing brush, and apply just a thin line of the Smokin’ Pistol eye stick.
Whether you are a smoky pro or a total novice, Samantha’s Smoky Eye has something for you!

I’m not sure I’m in love with the Buxom glosses… sometimes I love the minty tingle, and sometimes the taste/icy cold feeling on my lips just feels weird. I’ve been wanting to try the mascara, Smoky Eye Stick and Smoky Eye brush though.
I actually got a preview of the entire line of smoky eye sticks coming out in January and they are AWESOME! This is the easiest way to do a smoky eye without the black shadow mess. Plus I am obsessed with Buxom lash and I’m a huge fan of the glosses. I bought this for a gift already because it is a great value! Highly recommend.
Two of my favorite things: a smoky eye and a nude gloss! This set is the perfect opportunity for me to finally try Buxom products– one more item for my Sephora Christmas wish list! Thanks for the tip!
I absolutely LOVE Buxom glosses. They are so shimmery and fun…it’s a mad addiction of mine. :)
1. I love Buxom glosses almost as much as I love my man.
2.@dwj1 Did you have any trouble with the smoke sticks running? I never felt like the Buxom eyeliners stayed on very well…
I WANT this set! I love Buxom glosses and I haven’t tried their mascara yet, but It came highly recommended to me from a few friends.
@kate2004rock, your first comment made me laugh out loud. :P
