Lush formulas for your pout that are lip-licking good!
As my friends, family and many we heart this readers can attest, I’m slightly obsessed with smooth lips. I constantly carry a handful of balms with me at every moment, and just one small chapped spot or (heaven forbid) teeny flake of skin on my lips can drive me to distraction.
But recently, I’ve been taking a closer look at all those balms and their ingredients, knowing that all the products I was putting on my lips were eventually going into my body. While it seems our balms, glosses and lipsticks just disappear into nothingness after a few hours, the truth of the matter is that we’re slowly ingesting a lot of it. Luckily, Lynn Lawson the founder of Lani B. Holistic Lip Care was a few steps ahead of me.
The beauty loving mind behind this newly launched, Atlanta based company wondered why there are “unnecessary and unhealthy ingredients placed in products that we often ingest” and launched her carefully curated line of holistic, yet luxe lip care. Packed with simple and natural ingredients like plant butters, oils, fruit extract powders and essential oils these lip products are good enough (heck, even good for you) to eat!
With a mission to create “simple, natural and luxurious lip care” Lani B. offers four eco-friendly, body-friendly products; a lip conditioner, exfoliant, lip masque, and lip oil.
The cold winter is wrecking havoc on my lips, so I was excited to try the Lip Exfoliant on my bumpy lips. Just a pinch of this mix of turbinado sugar, banana and pineapple fruit powders, and olive and fruit oils was all that was needed to whisk away dead skin. After a quick rinse, the sugary, fruity and yummy scent (sort of like the beloved gum of my youth) barely lingered while a bit of the sweet oils stay behind to help keep lips moist.
If your lips are feeling especially parched, I highly recommend the Lip Conditioner ($22) to get them back into shape. Lately this little lush balm has replaced my normal dozen of options, as I’m reaching for this glass jar again and again in place of all my old tubes.
Stuffed with oils (sweet almond, castor seed, jojoba, meadowfoam, evening primrose, rosehip, aloe and neem), butters (cocoa, avocado), beeswax and vitamin E, this clear balm soothes and hydrates lips. It has a thick, lush texture to it that covers and coats my lips without feeling heavy or greasy and lasts for hours. Trust me, this plush balm is a winner.
Overall, and as a lip product junkie, I was impressed with the effective and luxe formulas of Lani B., and charmed by their sweet scents and simple packaging. Throw in a holistic philosophy and all natural ingredients and I predict big things from this little company.

Great post! This product looks like something I would be interested in as I run my finger tip across my dry lips.. they need some care after the winter – I am a Lip Balm gal like @tyna and try very hard to use what I know is good for them! It’s so refreshing to see a company commited to using only natural ingredients- I will look for this for sure!
The price tag is a little bit high for me, although my lips do need exfoliating. I think I’ll stick with some sugar and Aquaphor.
That lip conditioner looks absolutely lush! I love lip balms/conditioners that feel as good on my fingers as on my lips, and considering the method of application I’m never sure why other companies don’t think of that. The price is a bit steep, but when a product really *works* sometimes a splurge is necessary.
Yes @tyna, definitely intrigued! That lip conditioner looks so divine. I also would love to get my hands on a new lip exfoliator because winter hasn’t been so good on my lips lately…
Tyna and I had to have a dance off when the Lani B. Package arrived because we both wanted this badly! (She won, her and her moves *shakes fist!*) But I’ve been sneaking my fair share of it when I’ve visited. I love the Lip Exfoliant, with it’s slightly fruity scent. It’s an absolute necessity if you’re a bright lipstick wearer (nothing like dry lips to mess up your lipstick!) And followed with the Lip Conditioner, even my dry winter lips were downright baby soft.
Nice stuff, @tyna – you better hide if if you want any to be left for you!
