Carry this gem on Green Monday – and all week long!
Just about a year ago, I attended the LA Times Art of Entertaining event and among the attendees, I discovered Love This Planet. Founder Lisa was sweet, funny and most importantly, showcasing a stunning collection of perfectly sized, colorful tote bags made of super soft, yet sturdy canvas. Since I had a closet bursting with totes, I passed up the chance to snag one for myself…and have regretted it, while dreaming longingly of the bags, ever since.
Leave it to the style mavens at Glam, to have their eyes (and hands) on these so chic and comfy eco-friendly totes. Last Tuesday, I was invited to represent we heart this and participate on a blogger panel at a Glam Media Style Publisher Event. Public speaking? At the amazingly fancy Soho house? Like in front of people? Gulp.
The event itself turned out just fine – I didn’t embarrass myself when speaking and I met a ton of fab people. And the beauty junkie in me loved that the panelists all received an overstuffed swag bag as well as one of the partially recycled totes from Love This Planet. Hooray.
I was thrilled to pick out the Love This Planet canvas tote in sky (think the coral hues of sunset, not the blues of mid-day) from the collection of brightly colored totes. It’s been just five days since the event, and I’ve used this fab bag almost a dozen times.
Beyond the fun, vivid, neo-hippie tie-dye hues and sweet dove graphics, this tote ($56) is pretty much perfection. For starters, the broken in, recycled canvas is super soft and squishy – meaning it’s comfy to carry and easy to stuff into a purse for times when you need a shopping tote. Of course, when it looks this cute, you can also carry it as your main and only bag.
I also really appreciate the extra wide handles – so helpful when carrying a heavy load and they never cut into or callous my hands. The wide straps are also long enough to slip easily over a shoulder.
Inside the bag is fully lined in a shiny soft pink fabric and features a large, zippered pouch to securely store items like your cell phone, wallet and lip balm.
Plus, this eco-friendly bag not only helps cut back on your use of plastic and paper bags, it is made with partially recycled materials and non toxic paints. Even better, all Love This Planet totes are manufactured in India under fair wage practices.
If that’s not enough to have one of these bags on your shoulder, here’s one more reason; A portion of the proceeds from all Love This Planet sales benefit Green Ambassadors, an environmental leadership and education program for youth.
Suffice to say, I’ll be toting this tote everyday for the foreseeable future as I run my daily errands. Thanks to Glam and Love This Planet, I’ll be doing it in eco-friendly, green Monday approved style.

I love that this bag is already broken and and has a zipper poscket. The pocket is a must for me. Otherwise, items seem to float about and become hard to find.
Congrats on your successful panel appearance, @tyna , and on your swag bag, too! This tote is lovely and even though I have a million tote bags, how can I resist adding this perfect creation to my collection?
I love it! I use totes a lot for my diaper bag. Love the pocket inside so my smaller items don’t get lost.
Tanya – pockets are so important in big bags, aren’t they? A zipper makes them even better! Thanks for your comment.
What a cool looking bag! I’d love to have one- and pockets are so important to have and love the idea of loving our amazing planet! There is a lot to love about it for sure!
I like the colors and the repeating dove pattern on the back. Such a cute way to lug around my stuff! And I agree- inner pockets are a MUST for big bags.
You look so good in your red dress! And this tote bag is super cute. I love the little white birds on it.
I love the color of this bag, and Tayna that’s a great idea to use it as a diaper bag… I may just have to do that. I, too, really like the zipper pocket, which is sometimes hard to find in a tote. Love this!
